We are also told that radio waves have been bounced off it and take about 2.5 seconds to return to the source. What is happening here? What is at 238,000 miles, for radio waves to bounce off, if the Moon is a light in the sky that is only about 3,000 miles away (per most modern FE estimates?)  We're also told that radio waves travel at the speed of light which is 186,000 miles per second. 2.5 seconds is 465,000 miles. Assuming no slowing of the waves on the return, would put the alleged distance to the moon at 232,500 miles. That's also assuming they actually did any of it. Too many assumptions for my taste. |
