Question for RN or Physicians - Serious
So for the past month I have symptoms of something - getting worse so I assume it's serious

Overall I feel fine but for past month I have terrible pain in lower extremities(think sciatica- worse when laying on right side) coupled with bad constipation 4 days to go - I am assuming can be anything from diverticultis to something worse like a tumour/cyst sitting on my colon or an actual colon issue - I also saw that this could be embolism as pain goes up to right chest - all on one side

I had a colonoscopy exactly 1.5 years ago and doc(also my primary care) said he saw 'inches of healthy good colon'

I am a heavy drinker but cut down

My doctor is a state away so it's an hour drive

I have no health insurance and pay out of pocket - last colonoscopy and endoscopy cost me $1000 + the checkup was like $1400 total

I've been holding off because I am broke and was thinking stupid logic 'I can always go to the ER'

What do I do? Do I call my doc? do hospitals require PCR testing to even get through the doors?

Any help would be appreciated

Fast and pray a minimum of 2 weeks straight. If you have faith.

If not, you need to figure out how to get to any doctor right away. Debt is preferable to a slow horrivle death yeah?

Re: Question for RN or Physicians - Serious
You need a CT scan of the chest, and and pelvis as the best initial evaluation.
Many independent imaging places will do this for relatively cheap for cash, often for about the cost of most insurance copays.
Don't bother with ERs as they will do the minimum but charge retail rates of thousands of dollars which will follow you around.
Around here you can get the CT scAns for under a grand as opposed to Isurance bills for several thousand on top of he er fees of at least two thousand.
Call every imagine center in your area and ask what their cash fees for self directed screening CT studies.

If you have a doc you can have order the CT instead of self directed that will Increase your options.
You can go anywhere you want once you get that order.

If you go er it's what they'd do anyway, in addition to a blood chemistry panel so your doc could order that for you to.

Docs barely actually touch patients nowadays and mostly re!y on chemistry imaging findings

Just build your own CT scanner.

It's easy.

Find the money. You are way too complex for drive-by diagnosis.

Not kiddong. You could have had covid.

Long haul covid symptoms are bizarre.

I was sick last spring. Wasn't right for 4 months. Heart=blood pressure still gets wonky, now and then. Hands and feet get cold at odd times.

Don't even know if it was covid because no testing back then.

I thought it could be my appendix but It's not the typical symptoms -

As for the other C word - It could be long hauling in my system but I have no idea -

Bottom line I probably need to see a doc but everyday keep putting it off - I may just go tomorrow - get the blood work and the rest of it
