Can someone help me out with a Bible verse ?

I'm not a religious man but I do believe in God . I've read bits here and there and I've been thinking about one that I "think" I may have read , but not sure I remember correctly. It said basically as follows but different words .

"A beast will arrive and do great things, but will be hated for it , eventually another beast arises and does terrible things and makes people worship the the first beast "

I know its not them exact words , I may have been dreaming but I'm pretty sure I wasn't. I've been looking all over to find the exact verse but am having trouble . Any help is appreciated greatly, thank you GLP .
