Prove me wrong.

From the perspective of merely 100 years, but even more from the perspective of a few hundred, or a few thousand years 2020 was nothing but a speedbump. What makes you think 2020 was special was the comparable prosperity and liberty enjoyed by people in the preceding decades. In World War I Polish economy collapsed by THREE QUARTERS and in 1920 we were close to annihilation by the Bolshevik invasion. For people who lived through WWII 2020 was a walk in the park, though it sure did remind some of the martial law that we had here back in 1981. Perhaps it was a bad year from American perspective, but most people in the world remember worse times.

That is a great perspective. We Americans sometimes forget how good we've had it for the longest time.
