Re: How Many Are Close To A Breaking Point?
I'm posting this because I know I am becoming ever closer to reaching my own breaking point. My wife just lost her job today, which means our refinance falls through, which means we won't get $400 a month lower payments, which means we can't afford our current payment.

I'm not making this thread for sympathy, because glp is certainly not the place for that.

I'm making this thread because if it's happening to me and my household, then I guarantee it is happening to many households nationwide, and also I do need to vent a little. More and more people are falling to the ranks of the unemployed every day thanks to Covid combined with Biden policies. The situation is not going to recover anytime soon. Covid restrictions are becoming more strict, and Biden policies are irrational and insane (just like Biden!).

If it's happening nationwide, then not everyone is intelligent/logical enough to peacefully deal with adapting to a new situation and make life changes. If this is the case, then we very well may reach a tipping point or breaking point where people are willing to do anything to provide for their family (especially things that were previously off-limits in a civil society).

If there is one thing that 2020 taught us, it is that liars, cheaters, and thieves win. And if that is the lesson other people who lose their incomes see, then there will be an increase in liars, cheaters, and thieves among the populace and a potential breakdown of civil society.

Disclaimer: I am not advocating violence nor is violence my mode of operandi in a breaking point. I am just making an observation of cause/effect relationships in society.

Surely "all the right things" were done somewhere in the world. Is it under control any where?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79904361

I think it's been handled fairly well in places like New Zealand, Taiwan, Japan... (hmm I wonder what those places all have in common?)

Anyhow, I'm sure it could have been dealt with in the States better for sure. I mean, it's a fucking virus that spreads easily and fucks over people who were already old/unhealthy/infirm to begin with. We should just be dealing with it as such, and stop pretending it's anything other than what I just described. If everyone identified it as such and took precautions accordingly, we'd already be a hell of a lot better off.

The elites have really broken you people. You thought you were normal. You thought you were protected. You thought you lived in a "free" country.

But if you only read the sentences that I made bold you will realize WHY things are this way, and why the assholes win.

It's because GOOD people don't give a shit. They proved that with covid. Sorry OP, I don't give a shit about your situation just like you and the rest of the community didn't give a shit when I was almost homeless.

Now I"m the one sitting pretty not giving a DAMN.

Endure to the end. Liars , cheaters and thieves will not always prevail.

That being said, I'm going through this lockdown and this life alone. I've been alone my whole life. It's not sympathy that I seek, either. I simply seek to point out a different perspective. They only appear to win if you look at a short enough time line. When you zoom out, you see the real picture. Nothing in this world matters except those who you love and those who love you. When the rest of the world matters it's because you are reacting to the programming. They thrive on compartmentalization. Just look at how they have everything set up. When you remove the compartmentalization and see how everything is connected, you begin to realize that what is happening right here and now is just a tiny spec of reality. But you have to CHOOSE to zoom out. That is what derails the desperation and hopelessness.

ZOOM.OUT.

I appreciate your attempt, but sometimes it's best for me to sit and be angry. On the plus side, my anger is not directed at my wife nor any member at glp (mainly the extremely shitty company that employed her and mistreated her for 5 years).

She came home crying and I do not want her to be in any more pain. So I told her to drink herself silly tonight and eat whatever she wants no matter the cost. We will start anew tomorrow to figure out where we go.

I'm a loner as well. I was very lucky to find my wife, and every single friend I have made the past decade has come through her.

The ONLY reason I have not started to lie, cheat, and steal myself is because the timing of everything at this moment seems more like a spiritual test than a random series of unfortunate events. The agent handling the refinance has told me he's never seen anything like this before (as in this should have closed in early December, but random problems have been occurring every single week).

Hey man, tough break! I can relate. I've been down before and I learned from it. I invested in myself and now I'm in a position making $120K a year and I can't be fired or laid off. I also made $16K this month off investments.

Your failure was to be comfortable in your job, thinking it was always going to be there.

You have to chart your own destiny. Relying on anybody other than yourself, and maybe your wife, is a loser's game.

I could lose my job tomorrow (not going to happen though) and I'll still make more off my investments than I do working for the man.

Shake yourself and invest in yourself. Remake yourself and remarket yourself. Don't ever be caught in this position again!

Do you currently have a gov backed mortgage? If you do, I wonder if you can still go into a forbearance for a year?
 Quoting: Max Powers

Yes, I actually have a USDA loan.

I will look into this. Thank you.
 Quoting: Zedakah

Im USDA, I start mine back up in April. Its been forbear since last March. They payed the escrow too! I have 3 options for restart

1 pay it all back

2 pay an amount back every month

3 add to the back of the mortgauge.

I was told my credit and job status did not matter. My loan company is flagstar. They have been really great.
 Quoting: Max Powers

I also have flagstar. I started paying mine again in August. You get one chance, you can't do forbearance again for COVID when part 2 and 3 come around.

I added mine to the back, because I'm 1200% sure it won't matter. I'll be dead. Most of us will be, I'm afraid. Sounds defeatist, but I think that's the reality of the situcation. As we used to say "so it begins"

I burned three of my backyard chairs in my fire-pit while in a drunken plandemic rage. (That's okay, I replaced them with a hammock.)

Lighten up and like half the nation, stop paying your bills. Aint nothing no one going to do about it. Meanwhile, find jobs you can do at home, many. Should have done this a year ago, Its going to get worse before it gets better.

Good advice, in this one should take a look around your home and assess the situation. You likely own all kinds of things that you can live without and you can get good cash from selling it.

I have paid people lots of money to do dump runs and other errands. If you have a small pick up you can easily earn hundreds of dollars a week.

My failure was more I started too late than being comfortable in my job. I was only just promoted to full time with benefits last year.

For example, I only started trading stocks last June. I turned $500 into $3000 in 6 months. Now I very well may have to bring all of that out just to pay bills, while I find a way to get back on my feet. Where if this hadn't happened, I could have potentially turned that $3000 into an even higher number in another year.

Has your job mandated vaccines yet?
 Quoting: Don Draper from Nantucket

Not yet, but being a biology department it is only a matter of time.

Unfortunately for the department, I am 'highly allergic' to polyethylene glycol (PEG), and will be unable to take any of the vaccines currently available.

Trump was president for 4 years but it's not his fault. Biden is president for about 1 week and it's all his fault.

You are so stupid that you deserve whatever you get.

Epic giggler AC. I'm not a 'Trump-tard' as my red thumbs will clearly show. That said, Trump compared to Biden is like comparing Loki to Satan. One, actually gave enough of shit to try to change things but was immediately encircled and beset on. Mischief and foolish as old Don Jon was.

Whether he is in on it or not is still up for debate around my household. But, assuming Trump was what he claimed then yes, it 200% on Biden because he immediately reinstated Obama-Era policies that crippled us.

So, giggle all the fuck you want you paid corporate/gubament stooge. It won't matter when the masses become hungry and destitute. When the angry mobs of Left and Right that your kind has created drag you from your homes, rape your women-folk, and torture you before they genocide you and dump you in an unmarked mass grave. You shall reap what you sow!
(NOT A THREAT! A terrifying vision of what has passed and shall come to pass.)

There is no afterlife for a place that began as heaven.

Enjoy the SHOW.
