Lol, so my son's math teacher is hispanic.
Before I get started, just know I have no problem with Hispanics, at all, my neighbor is Hispanic and is a great guy.

I have hispanic friends.

But my son has been on home learning for 8 months now and she has a very heavy accent.

He understands every third word.

I've listed to her and helped him with classes, we are on with 20 or so students and every one of them asks what? What did you say?

My son is like dad I cant understand her speech, like I cant understand her.

What do I do?

If i say anything I'm a racist, but he cant understand the teacher.

Any advice?

Go up the steps.

Complain to the principal.

Complain to the superintendent.

Complain to the school board.

Write your congressman, write an angry letter to the editor, all that basic civic stuff, instead of just bitching on GLP.

Good idea.

They can link in and watch.

It's not just my son.

In the virtual environment, she asks other kids questions and they always say what? They dont understand her either.

It's not just us.

But then she's a total tyrant and counts kids absent if they dont respond.

It's crazy.

I will take this up the chain.

Hoping not to offend, OP, but grow a set.

We're talking about what's best for your child.

Proper communication is a rock bottom necessity to learning.

They are not providing the FUCKING BASIC NEEDS for your son to succeed.

I'm sure the teacher is a great teacher, in her own language...

Fight for your son, and don't be a pussy who's afraid to offend someone because they can't do the job that needs to be done.

Raise hell, and DEMAND the proper ESSENTIALS for learning to take place...

Another idea is to have someone bring up the issue to the proper school officials on your behalf who has no connection to the school at all. It keeps you and your child out of it.

In the same style as, "asking for a friend."

Your son should be learning Spanish. It is by far the superior language.

Superior language, superior culture, superior people.

It is for his own good. He is young and has his whole life ahead for him. You don't want him to be like his father, do you?

You're having a rough day. First a grandmother that listens to the TV over her grandson who actually loves her and wants the best for her. Now a son that tries to listen to his teacher to learn and can't because she speaks broken english.

Its so insane that your fear of being labeled a racist is legitimate. I don't mean to make it about sides here but the left makes shit really difficult when you're a hard working American that actually gives a shit.

I would call or go in to the school and tell them point blank. Maybe if some of the other parents can give you their testimony that their children are having the same issue it wouldn't be so daunting. But I wouldn't be worried about offending anyone because if you explain yourself as you did here there is nothing offensive about it. You care about your child's education and you care about the children of your community's education and that is in jeopardy. That is pure fact. No racism, no hatred. Just present the problem and ask for demand a solution.

Good luck brother.

Fairly certain fluent English should be required for any position teaching math to English-speaking students. It sounds like she isn't speaking fluent English.

You have to be able to communicate.

Sounds like you are doing exactly what you can, standing beside them and interpreting the mainstream 'something' and converting into American.

Well done dad and bravo.

I still think we just need to take schools private. Save all of that tax money, give it back to the citizens of a local community and then let them invest of their own free will and money, what type of system they want for their children.

Cheep with no parental involvement? Done.
Having a stake in what your child does or doesn't do..learn or doesn't learn because you are cutting a check for it monthly. I bet that would motivate some parents...real fast.

Then let the chips fall where they may. Hispanic teachers in America? hahahahahaha ... that can't even speak fluent English (I know I Know..throwing rocks in glass houses and everything)

See, we take the Hive Mind out of Educating our developing Soul Children and put the full responsibility back with the patents. Like it should be.

Then those day care centers through 12th grade become learning centers. Or homeschooling families linking together through technology to create a network of success, learning and ENJOYMENT!!!!! for the children.

But what do I know.

It would'nt be such a problem if the teacher wasnt a tyrant.

When the kids ask what? She immediately says you didn't understand me? Maybe you should listen better and shit like like that.

Then she fails them when they never understood the smassignment.

She's a total bitch knowing the kids dont know what the fuck she's saying.

The learning Spanish comment wasnt said the best but unless he and ergo you are moving anytime soon, it'd be beneficial for your son to learn the basics of el spanito. And ya never know, it could even save his life if he hear's people talking about him on the street thinking he cant understand them.
