Why is nobody talking about the suddenly incompetent US Post Office?

That's ridiculous.

Mail has been terrible in PA. Since November, every package with a tracking number I look up seems to experience a 2-3 week vacation at the Philadelphia sorting facility.

Seems we’re being forced into direct deposit banking & bill payments since mailing checks to pay bills is now virtually impossible. The controlled demolition of all systematic infrastructure is well underway.

It's gotten a little bit better. But had a 2 day priority package take 22 days in December.

Messes up internet sales for a lot of people.

Honestly Trump royally fucked up the Post office. Im not sure why. Maybe just because he was trying to stop the steal?

In any case it royally fucked up shipping. Takes weeks to get packages now.

I mailed a Christmas card from NJ to a relative in Florida. Mailed on December 15th. She received it on January 16th.

Here in Oklahoma, the US Mail has been terrible. Bills are not showing up on time. Payments sent are showing up late...

They are blaming it on CoVid...

Our main post office in our town was closed for three days. Sign on the door said, "Closed due to COVID."

The local post office had (1) employee, never had an issue, he was replaced by (5) employees around election time and it's been a shit show ever since.

Covid seems to cover every bad business excuse. I've gotten late fees on my Verizon bill when I mailed it in plenty of time.

Most people already talked about it back when DeJoy took over in July or August or whatever and just gutted and demolished it. It'll take some time to repair what he did.

To address the Covid 19 in sig areas or address area.

There was a statement sent to all stations across the US to have certified mail, signature mail, and express mail to be signed by the carrier and then place the C19 or Covid19 next to the carriers name in the signature area on the 3849 (pink slips for left notice) or on the scanner signature area.

This was done to protect the carrier and the customer from any interaction and possible transmission of c19. Now, the carrier is suppose to go to the door, ring the bell, step back from the door and get the slip ready. Once the customer opens the door the carrier is suppose to inform the customer that they have a piece of mail that requires signature. They are then to ask if they want to accept it. If it is a yes, then the carrier was instructed to tell the customer that they (the carrier) would sign it and place it on the ground for the customer to pick up once the carrier has stepped away.

There are customers that do have a "signature on file" that allows carriers to scribble on the 3849 and use that as the signature from the customer.

There are carriers that will sign for items and leave them for customers out of respect or in some cases laziness. This is where they usually screw up and misdeliver it to another customers address signed by the carrier. This is where the F up happens.

Carriers are NOT suppose to sign for anything for a customer if that customer is not at the house. BUT again, the lazy assholes will do it so they do not have to bring it back and redeliver on another date.


Now as far as crappy delivery. The USPS is still playing catchup with the packages from Christmas. Hell, they are still finding some plants have placed letter mail into the trucks that are holding the overflow of packages.. This is where Christmas cards are being found. There is not any excuse for this other than lazy management and the mailhandlers that were suppose to move it to the right areas. The USPS is behind.

Now, this is not the fault of the PMG, but shit that has happened in the past and was only exacerbated by the current Covid bullshit. The machines that DeJoy wanted to have removed were actually machines that were NOT being used. There are still machines in several plants that are not used and have zero parts to repair them. Nothing that the current PMG caused. I am not covering for the PMG or the entire staff at the USPS not doing their jobs. This has management written all over it. The carriers are the last line. So when you get a letter that is late, it is not their fault. It is the fault of management not getting the work done, shuffling the mail to other areas to hide away(so they wont have to work the OT for the clerks.)

Blame the union, you can't fire the idiots. Incompetent management, supervisory and grunts all work in a cohesive mediocrity team. Anything that reeks of efficiency and productivity is immediately destroyed be it a person, a machine or procedure. Government standard operation procedure.
