But now you're paying a huge premium for miniscule gains. Rich mans gaming. AMD is the working mans, or womans, choice. This is more pronounced with cpus than video cards. With cpus you're talking 95% gaming ability and 110% multicore ability for 65% of the price. How could you not choose this? And any mid price gpu in the $300-$500 range is gonna rock n roll. |

Quoting: shovelbum I'd coached him through his first build about a year ago. He opened it up a couple weeks ago to clean it and it would never post again. He kept on that his Ram went bad because he only had 8gigs and was overworking it. No buddy, you fried your mobo. He couldn't accept that. We went through every diagnosis path there was. He never could accept that it wasn't the Ram. You know, because fucking war thunder overheated his 8 gigs of ram or something. Guess what it was. Mobo. Static discharge destruction is quite rare, but it does happen. Mobo's aren't expensive. The one I want is about 200 bucks |

Quoting: CigarTigher I know this has nothing to do with conspiracies. I would not recommend getting any of the latest NVIDIA graphics cards, OP. Mostly because they cost as much as a used car. I would suggest trying to get a 2080 Ti instead. Those are much more common place than any of the 3000 series from what I understand. I built my main computer as a gaming rig, OP. What is your budget? Also what is or are the/are the purpose(s) of your PC? I know my questions sound stupid, but bear with me. If you are looking to get into building up your own YouTube channel, Twitch channel, or what have you having a beefy gaming rig will help you to make money and have a good or better recreational/gaming rig. Even the 1600 series can game quite well. |

I paid roughly ten dollars for a legit Windows 10 Product Key from someone on eBay. So you are simply wasting alot of money for what is a practically free Windows OS. I have come to find out that 16GBs of RAM is the bare minimum for modern gaming. Seeing how beautiful the graphics are for most of the modern Call of Duty games are I reckon 16 GBs of RAM is good enough. Having 32 or more GBs of RAM is not stupid if your motherboard can handle that much RAM. If you are doing image editing, and/or video editing 32 GBs of RAM, from what I have heard on the Internet here and there over the years, is usually not enough RAM. Crazy, eh? I remember when having 16GBs of RAM was considered massive overkill long ago. It would seem that 64GBs or even 128 GBs of RAM is the new sweet spot for video and/or image editing these days. They have all the individual components you would need, and many knowledgeable reps to help you piece together your dream machine, usually, for fairly cheap too. Yep! Fry's Electronics is the go-to place for anything electronics. Though to know that entirely due to the crypto-currency people all graphics card sales are final. Didn’t know they sold graphics cards. |

Fry's Electronics is the go-to place for anything electronics. Though to know that entirely due to the crypto-currency people all graphics card sales are final. Didn’t know they sold graphics cards. I have not been to my nearest Fry's Electronics in over a year. They had their "Going Out of Business" look for many months back then. Only because they were going to some sort of different business model, or so some of their employees told me back then. I got tired of going there looking for stuff only to find out they barely had anything to sell. Back then I had literally about three grand in my wallet to spend on building me a top tier or at least a high end gaming rig. Turned out I had to buy much of the stuff I wanted off of Amazon. Newegg and Tigerdirect, both of their prices and availability of the stuff I wanted were almost identical while Amazon's prices were somewhat higher but had plenty of what I wanted in stock. If things are still set up approximately how they were at the Fry's Electronics in Dallas, TX on Northwest Highway the graphics cards are in the back just past the new PC sales floor. Use brave browser instead. Thank you! Will do. If you do not mind the possible heartache of failed business ventures here, OP, try Craigslist: [link to dallas.craigslist.org (secure)] When I still actively sold stuff on Craigslist some people were POSes and stood me up. Craigslist can still be a great way to privately sell and/or buy stuff. The way I bought and sold stuff on Craigslist years ago, OP, was simple. Start out with whatever communications method is suitable for whoever you are trying to initiate a business contact with. Craigslist has gotten pretty good at keeping your private information private while allowing you to up to directly contacting your attempted business contact. Under ALL circumstances use only cash for all transactions. Preferably meet in a public location such a Wal-Mart parking lot. This way should things go south such as an attempted robbery at least one individual and/or camera should bear witness and help the cops in arresting whoever screwed you. Negotiate the final sales price. Your honor as a private business man or woman is at stake at all times, after all. Unless if you have had previous experience with the buyer or seller in question NEVER EVER meet up at night and/or in a secluded area. Specifically, if you have had prior positive experience(s) with said private seller or buyer. For me, since I typically got to our agreed-upon-destinations sooner than my buyers would I would sometimes wind up think about my wasting my time and/or alot of other intensely negative things. The business deals would go down easy peasy. The single greatest things about Craigslist business deals are getting out of the house for a while and NO sales taxes! Really, no taxes whatsoever.
