Don't know where you're located, OP, but you might try another provider. I'm in Missouri. Just had orthopedic surgery last week at an outpatient surgical center. No test required or even mentioned.

How does anyone really know anything? You don't. You have to trust your caregivers.

How do you know that the dental equipment that is used between patients is sterilized and not infected with Aids?

How do you know when you go to a chiropractor that the doctor won't snap your neck?

How do you know that someone doesn't boil a rat in the huge pot of green beans that your canned beans comes from?

You don't! You can give yourself a tremendous amount of anxiety worrying about what ifs.

How do you know that you already don't have a record of dna from a blood test?

OP obviously needs this procedure so why put him/her through hell for it? Stomach pain can be a gnawing pain that is worsened by stress.

I know someone who has had negative Covid tests and hasn't been sick yet.

Point is, if they want your DNA they could get it and you probably would never know.

It would be best to avoid getting tested, but not everyone can do that.

There is a deeply negative supernatural aspect to CoVid. Pray for protection against whatever may be taken from you in the sample, whatever may be on the end of that swab, and from the virus itself.

OP - I had a covid test a week before my surgery in October.
No issues at all.
