Any other walkaways here lost all their (lib) friends?
I am a walkaway since circa 2016. (I've edited all details to make this shorter.) Bottom line: I've lost all my lib "friends". Although I live in a conservative area, I don't have any conservative friends. I wouldn't even know how to meet anyone, there's no way now with "Covid" lockdowns.

How would you connect with someone in real life, in such a situation? I'm not a millenial, I'm an introvert (LOL) and I'm not good at this stuff. I have online friends already but I would like some RL friends. What would you do?

Is anyone in my same situation? Maybe you're a conservative who lives in lib territory? Anyone else here lost all their (lib) friends when they switched allegiances? They're impossible to talk to: they drink the CNN Kool-aid, they are all convinced it's all 1 dimensional, they're told the truth and shun anyone who threatens their "perfect little world", never mind how askew their view of reality is.

Ill asnwer here since i am neither lib or conserv.

Find a hobby. Engage people. You will know the friendlies, they are unmistakable. Dont talk politics.

I dont church, but there are some godly Trump lovin people there, its a good place to start.

Call up some old friends, feel em out.

I only have 1 friend i can talk to. Really, thats all you need. When you find that person who will smile through their mask in public, talk some sense to you when your freaking out, and defend your point of view in front of others...... grab hold of them and never let go...

Thanks, TD. I don't church either. I have hobbies, they don't involve anyone else, they're introvert, loner hobbies, mostly online, as I can't go anywhere anyway. And yeah, I identify more with Libertarian than anything else. I liked Ross Perot and then Ron Paul. Trump was Dem so he is a walkaway too, cos let's face it, Dems aren't Dems anymore!

There are no "old friends" to call up. I tried that 20 years ago, and then 10 years later. Same useless, worthless people, each time I remembered why they're not friends anymore. Some 5 years ago, I reconnected with 2 old friends, huge mistake on both counts. See above.

Any other tips?

I’m a walk away. I never really talked politics on my Facebook because I have friends and family of all political persuasions. My account is deactivated right now , but when I do get back on there my plan is to unfriend every Biden supporter on my list. I just can no longer tolerate people that are that brainwashed and hypocritical. Not to mention that if they find you out they’ll most likely put you on a list or dox you.

Sadly enough i can relate. Most hobbies dont require another person, or i just dont care (snowboarding alone).

Online interaction, while seemingly filling a void, is usually only surface scratching at a deeper itch. Many years i spent online gaming; organizing mass multi raids, long grinding xp sessions, all nite zombie wars, etc. I gained a lot of experience dealing with and interacting with all kinds.
There are thousands of people right here, lots of them caring, loving Americans who would listen to you and interact well. Youll have to filter out the hate obviously but if you engage the right topics with the right people this can be a beautiful sight and a fulfilling experience.
Unfortunately, this is what we have right now. How social the media is depends on your engagement with it.

I have some Lib friends who did nothing only bitched about how their life under Trump was awful and how it was all his fault they had no money.

When Biden "won" they gloated harder than ever at me and my response was quite simple, Ah now your guy is in I guess all your problems are solved! No more poverty eh? Plenty of healthcare for your family.

I find the easiest way to make a lib see the effects of being gaslit by the left is to keep pointing to their pocket, your guy is in full control now, nobody blocking shit, WHERES ALL YOUR RICHES??? OMG WHY DO YOU STILL HAVE PROBLEMS???

Me too. I wonder if there are lots more peeps like us. I suspect so.

I do not think we’re out of the woods yet in this situation... I do not recommend telegraphing your politics until we are. No offense OP but any posts like this could very well be seeking out ‘walkaways’ for persecution...

I think we must accept that we are living in extraordinary times, and also that we are squarely in wartime and have been for YEARS now! It is a stealth war, info war, asymmetrical war, etc.

The ptb programs us constantly to believe that war is still the way it used to be. Big guns and armies on the march. But it’s really AI supercomputers wargaming EVERYTHING.

The best advice I can give is it is not yet safe to trust. Dont use social media or a cell phone— at least use that as little as possible.

What I meant by that is that we were all destined to have our lives disrupted by war. Periodically there are generations that must go through this. But this is no ordinary war. It is a global insurrection, against space pirates who made this entire planet prisoners. It’s like a global revolutionary war. That’s why the term “Patriots” is being used, I guess.

So I’m really getting that sense of history and duty... It is our duty to figure out how to liberate ourselves from the space pirate tyranny.

Thanks everyone for your cool replies. Thanks, The Denier, again.

I don't see how anyone would use this thread to "persecute walkaways" (in response to message above) I think everyone here knows to stay safe online? I have no social media (I do not consider a no-sign up board to be S.M. That's different than forums, has always been.)

I don't talk politics to anyone anymore, it just sucks being alone and I'm going through some rough times, I've never been socially "apt" anyways, so "friends" have always been acquaintances more than anything. The kind that I'd never hear from in a million years if I wasn't the one dialing. One such person emailed me recently and right away I got scared: "what did I do?" and, indeed, the email started with "you're always the one who emails me, thought I'd email you for a change" and it was a nice surprise. Otherwise, it's always been like this ever since I was a kid.

Not all of them, but I have distanced myself from some people who I realized were kind of a drag on my life anyways and had turned into annoying Orange Man Bad zombies.

Still have some friends that are liberal or lean that way but they aren't pop culture obsessed.

Yea i guess your right this isnt really social media. The only one i use is instagram, and just for business exposure. Its not really possible to be social on platforms that are censored heavily. I guess its fine for liberals, but the farther you get from believing the narrative the less youll want to be censored. The small amount of interaction i get here is about all i get outside my small circle..

I voted for Trump in 2016 and didn’t tell anyone but my one conservative friend and my sister. With the crap that has been going on this past year I have been more vocal about my opinions and my in laws won’t come over since they found out I am a Trump Supporter, I can’t stand to be around my liberal friends because they are so brainwashed and my dad won’t talk to me without telling me how horrible I am since I support Trump. It’s pretty depressing and I have held on to hope that everything would come out and they would see, but even when something does come out they think it’s fake. It really sucks.

Re: Any other walkaways here lost all their (lib) friends?
"Having friends" is an illusion. There is no such thing. It doesn't exist.

What does exist, is people clinging to other people and calling them "friends". The only reason to attach yourself to others this way, is if you're afraid to be alone.

Those who are true to themselves inevitably end up loners, because that is the natural state of a psychologically mature human being. Then they wonder why they don't have any "friends" like everyone else, just because the media says we should have them.

Well, everyone else only have "friends" because they happened to play together in kindergarten, and then they never had the guts to let go of each other ever since, even though they have nothing in common anymore.

They cling to each other and invest any amount of time and energy to maintain their imaginary "friendship", and they don't dare to grow into the person they were meant to be, because then they'd lose their "friends".

In other words, the reason you don't have "friends", is because you aren't a codependent coward. You have integrity. You are your own person. You go your own way. You take responsibility for your own self.

And so you will NEVER have friends.

What you can have however, is acquaintances. You can meet other loners who have similar interests, and you can do things together with them, and enjoy each other's company.

But they're still not "friends". You only meet them to do the thing you're doing together, and while you can have a lot of fun together while doing it, you then go separate ways. You don't cling to each other.

Because you're not that immature.

Does it make sense to you now OP?

I walked away from all acquaintances and former friends.

Former friends (most of them voted for Trump and thought it was Christian to vote for Trump). I told them they were going to hell and I was not going to risk going to hell by hanging out with any trump supporter who did not repent.

Hence they are no longer my friends.

I had one friend that praised Obama and wanted Hilary to win. I told her that she needed to repent or I'd never see her again.

Well I haven't seen her since I told her to repent of voting for Hilary and praising Obama.

Trump, Hilary, Pence, Biden, Obama, Harris,Bush, Cheney..etc ....these people are all devils and no Christian needs to be fellowshipping with those that support such despicable politicians except from a long distance away just to tell them they need to repent.

Walked away from a few. But to be honest they were not that great prior to 2016. Their vitriol sealed the deal. The only peeps i hold dear and trust is three people from high school. My wife and my sibling and parents. The rest were fair weather friends. I have one tight friend from my time in doctoral school but we are forged in fire together much like combat friends. We went through a lot of very hard times in school together.

I lost a beautiful girl I had a crush on since I was like barely able to walk.

I walked away from her and lost her forever.

She married another guy and had a couple kids.

The pain of it never stops.

I'm not a walkaway, but I don't have any liberal friends left. The funny thing is I didn't even know they were commies. They just went batshit crazy when Trump won and outed themselves as libs.
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.
