A recruiter found me my dream job right now. A recruiter who reached out to me. Only took 9 fucking months. So basically, never apply for a job ever. It is a waste of time. I guess just wait until someone calls you.

Don't believe the BS that recruiters don't look at anyone over 40. That might be true for some hipster tech type firms and physical labour jobs, but far from true for many industries.

In fact, it's almost the opposite; experience counts for almost everything now. Academic qualifications mean jack if attained in the past decade or so, given lower bars and shit outcone. And no company wants a young ADD millenial SJW onboard to rock the boat, despite any corporate virtue-signalling to the contrary.

Older workers, reliable, broad experience, creative, down-to-earth...are what is keeping the economy running. Older folk often can be far, far, far more valuable.

Temp worker companies are where many will have to go. Most companies don't want to commit to a long term employee that costs a ton. Most companies have a short term project that needs completion then out the door with you. It's going to be catch as catch can for still in business companies as small projects pop up, get completed and then go into hibernation until the next project/contract gets let.
