Single handedly they are the source of Civilization. Even to this very day in complete control.

Written Word. Centralized Government and Laws. Urbanized living. all Phoenician. One simple word: Nope. Urbanizd living existed in the Indus valley long before the PHoenicians had it (but we don't even know where they came from, they are known as the "Sea People", so how do you EVEN KNOW THEY KNEW URBANIZATION?). The old Vedic scriptures were written down, long before the Phoenicians. And centralized government and laws (and stuff, I presume) certainly existed before the Phoenicians. There is no reason to assume the Phoenicians "invented" it. Why is "centralized government" such a thing with you Americans BTW? Centralized government comes naturally with urbanization. The first centralized governments were city-states. They were kingdoms. that was all Phoencian...Indus is one place among many settled and developed before the Pyramids were even built.
