A man impersonating a woman and vice versa used to be a fun popular theme of make-believe comedy.
Sadly now in the West, gender reversal themed comedy has gone the way of the Muhammad cartoonist.

The make-believe act of transitioning gender got so realistic, so expensive (i.e. Pharma lucrative),so medically malpractic-free, and thus convincing to the eye,
that anyone who takes a Geneticists view of gender gets viewed and now "outed" by the social justice league as the Monster.
Meanwhile, Frankenscience surgeons continue the procedure of male and female genital mutilation in a ever-failing attempt to "correct" a miss-diagnosed physical gender abnormality, and hormonal imbalance whose origin is all in the brain or the mind.

I am all in favor of legislation that recognizes and protects the personal rights of anyone who associates as Transgender i.e. impersonates a gender that is other than their Biologic/Genetic (for this incarnation) gender.
I don't support legislation that gives special privilege to those individuals, especially in the area of taxpayer funded cosmetic surgery, men competing in women sports, or ANYONE entering a public (multi-user) restroom, dressing room, shower room, that is designated other than that person's gender was at birth.

Big picture
Consider, that the entire population of biologically and/or hormonally altered Transgender people in the US is -by my wild guess- perhaps a demographic comparable in actual size to the sum total of the Nation's Amish population.
The Amish receive the same legal rights and protections as the rest of the US non-Amish population. No less, no more special perks, despite being -from the view of the majority- blatantly underprivileged.

If the Amish were woke activist, they might demand that the speed limit of every state that they choose to live in be radically reduced to 15mph so that there is Unity on the roads and their horses don't get so triggered by fast, loud cars.
But the Amish are proud...not loud. Amish are arguably the Cleanest, Greenest community in the country, and for sure the least lecherous on the government system and services. Amish humbly refuse special privilege. Rugged farmers and craftspeople, they stimulate economy rather than suck on it. They make good neighbors, yet remain self-content with their own. Everyone Amish and Un, gets along swimmingly with no bathroom reassignments or buggy speed bans. Though I wasn't born Amish, I'd TransAmish tomorrow if I could.

Finding, accepting, and learning to laugh at the entire rainbow of Vanities on display that make humanity so interesting will go a long way closer toward creating actual human and gender Unity, than will the American InKarenQuisition.

Just the two cents from one citizen associating as a designated social pariah on the Trans issue that affects my freedoms also.
If tomorrow I wake up, see my blunder and make an about face shift, decide to go Trans, and start my hormone replacement therapy and schedule my reassignment surgery and totally immerse in my new Trans community...

then will I be still social pariah, or socially just ok?
