Fimbulwinter – The harsh winter that precedes the end of the world
A recap of Norse mythology

less than 50%

Someday – whenever the Norns, those inscrutable spinners of fate, decree it – there shall come a Great Winter (Old Norse fimbulvetr, sometimes Anglicized as “Fimbulwinter”) unlike any other the world has yet seen. The biting winds will blow snows from all directions, and the warmth of the sun will fail, plunging the earth into unprecedented cold. This winter shall last for the length of three normal winters, with no summers in between. Mankind will become so desperate for food and other necessities of life that all laws and morals will fall away, leaving only the bare struggle for survival. It will be an age of swords and axes; brother will slay brother, father will slay son, and son will slay father.

Mongolia suffering “most extreme winter on record” + Animals Freeze Solid in neighboring Kazakhstan

less than 50%

The record cold currently sweeping much of our planet is NOT due to anthropogenic global warming, and the impressive snow-mass currently building is NOT at all linked to an increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide — given the ludicrous mainstream claims of late, I felt I should start with that.

Following the stark global temperature drop at the end of 2020, record cold is persisting across much of the Northern Hemisphere: transcontinental Russia is currently locked under a mass of brutal Arctic air which has driven temperature departures 20C below what were already harsh winter averages.

Rare Summer Snow Hits New Zealand + Global Cooling set to Intensify

less than 50%

An unusually unsettled summer is being experienced in Middle Earth, particularly on New Zealand’s South Island where substantial snow has blanketed the mountains over recent days and weeks.

There’s a fresh accumulation of pow-pow on the peaks around Queenstown this week, after conditions in the Lakes area allowed for flakes to settle.

Frigid polar air left Antarctica on Sunday, and it has lingered over Australasia ever-since. As reported by odt.co.nz, Weatherwatch says temperatures will continue to be down across New Zealand as a storm near Stewart Island slowly tracks eastwards, dredging up the cold. The forecaster elaborated, adding that temps would hold below average for the remainder of the week, with single-digit highs likely through parts of Otago and Southland.

This sounds like a take off of the movie Frozen, which was inspired, but not really based on, a nordic tale. That would be when Elsa froze everything on her way out.

Was just reflecting on this about Vermont a couple days ago. In the late 90's and early 00's if would consistently be 0° F and down into the negatives for much of the winter. The snow would accumulate until there would be berms several feet high piled along the roadways and it was rare that it would melt.

Now the snow melts multiple times a seaon even on the mountain peaks where the ski slopes are. It has become common for there to be little accumulation. Rain all throughout the winter. Warm spells into the 50's and higher. This trend has increased over the past two decades.

Granted VT doesn't get much snow. I lived in the Sierra Nevada's for a while where a storm might dump 8 or more feet in under 48 hours.

For what it's worth: I'm not into the scam of human induced global coolwarming climate changery. I'm old enough to remember when we were supposed to freeze to death of a new ice age or die of a population explosion (one Paul Ehrlich's dumbass notions) by the 90's. I do think that human implemented geo-engineering likely plays a role.

I think most weather is driven by naturally occurring patterns and cycles (a lot of it directly impacted by the sun's activity) which aren't taken into account because they don't fit the agenda of the power hungry sociopaths writing climate policy.

It's their memory of the last Ice Age. Several years with increased snow, no sun.

I love the mythology of my Viking ancestors, it's so bleak and heroic. It's heroic BECAUSE it's bleak. They know they're gonna lose to the Giants but they keep fighting anyway. It's the way we should all go down - swinging.
