I think a lot of people are so fed up that they are willing to live their lives as best as they can, in spite of the risk they could catch the virus and die, or end up severely disabled. That is, they are taking a fatalistic view abd saying, “If I die, I die. A life being lived under permanent lockdown is no life at all, and not worth living.”

There is no way the UK government will be able to keep the pubs shut until July. A massive revolt will happen long before then. Local pubs are the lifeblood of communities throughout the UK. There’s no way the British will give them up without a fight.

Wetherspoon pubs charge like £2+ a pint.

Most the other pubs think they are restaurants now with their microwave "gastro pub" meals so charge more for a drink.

It should be law that a pint should not cost more than £2.50

I was in new york last week and there are speakeasys back open no joke. You walk down the street and get approached by a panhandler asking if you want a bar or restaurant and then then for a small tip they take you to one. You go down a random allyway and he knocks on a door poof your in and no one is wearing masks I love it!! They have to be making a gold mine as everything is overpriced and I assume the cops are being paid something to turn the cheek. Its very interesting times we are living in.

I don't think that it will pass because Oregon is rank second in the USA for craft beer production. They have a strong business lobby that contributes to the Legislators getting into office. It has been tried before a few years ago and the bill did get past then.
