If you made about the same or more $ how is it that you need government help to meet you payroll and pay rent?????????? Guess what happened to that money? It went to owner's bonus. Or at least 1 guy in here posted he got an bonus. What I mean is 1 guy posted that his employer spread the love and gave him a bonus so they did not take all of it for themselves. But he admitted they had a banner year. So why did they get your tax dollars? And don't forget about the $5000 per employee for 2020 and $7,000 per quarter per employee for 2021. These are payroll tax credits the company gets via IRS payroll form 941 and or form 7200. |

User ID: 75969252 United States 01/24/2021 11:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My company received $417k to cover payroll for 25 employees. We used every penny of that money on payroll, including all 25 employees Kaiser bill which is $17k per month. We got 100% full forgiveness because of how we used that money. It drives me NUTS to see companies on that list with ZERO employees that received hundreds of thousand or even millions of dollars. I was forced to lay off all the workers and they were supposed to survive on unemployment in Cali which several of them never received a check. All that changed once we got the PPP and could pay the guys their full hourly rate for the 8 weeks we had that money. Benefits: We had to pay payroll taxes each pay period which is several thousand dollars each payroll. This is NOT covered by the PPP so my company is out $39k in payroll taxes for the weeks we used the PPP money. We also had to pay workers compensation for all our employees to sit at home which was $16k and the PPP money does not cover that. However, we are fighting this because WTF. Why should an insurance company get paid to cover people for working when everyone is sitting at home? |

It's one thing to let failing companies crash due to mismanagement but the least the State can do is help to prop up the jobs they are FORCING to close. But make no mistake - this is all a part of the Great Reset. In order to implement a central planning department, they need to ruin the nation first. The single best way to do that is to have the State kill the jobs in the name of 'safety' so the people are so desperate for work they will vote in a Central Planning Department not knowing wtf it actually does. |

Checked out my area and looks like almost every business in our town got some PPP. I applied for PPP funds for our business and received it last year and it was 100% forgiven. Just applied for the 2nd round PPP and was approved. Our business did suffer economically, 25% reduction even though we were operating the whole time. I also applied for EIDL but only took the advance that was forgiven, but did not accept the $100,000+ loan they offered. |

You are 100% wrong. Look at the SBA website. People are in the process of applying for forgiveness and I know many who have already applied and received 100% forgiveness. I noticed most of the businesses that took the loot remained opened. The top takers off PPP are very wealthy folks. So basically the businesses get free labor as the workers were there but the tax payers got to pay their paychecks. I could understand if they closed the doors or sent people home and used the money to stay afloat. But hell no! They remained open and at full capacity and took the loot. Funeral homes LOL! The bodies would be stacked like cord wood as death does not consider shutdowns. I only use my area as an example as we do not see economic downturns like the rest of the country. During the gulf oil spill crisis we grew 6% as Gatlinburg, Pigeon forge, Sevierville area is a nice middle of the road getaway. Our town has seen a lot of tourists this year. You would think the hotels and restaurants would have applied more so than the other entities. I guess they all have creative accountants who advised them to apply for the free loot. "If you gotta eat a turd eat it fast." |

If someone misrepresented their payroll/FTEs, they are paying that back at 1%. This isn't "free money" like the CARES Act. Do you talk to CPAs and Drs? Many took a hit. People had less money. My PCP turned away everyone for 3+ months, same with the kids' pedi. They would not see anyone. CPAs typically make money when their clients make money (otherwise, what taxes are they paying?!?).
