I know people who use Facebook to keep in touch with family. I thought this might be useful to those who have it.

Why are you even on Facebook if you know you are being tracked? Seems illogical.

I delete 4-5 people a day that's "following me". Most are from India.

I work in digital marketing and pretty much this. No matter what you do, you leave a footprint online, social media or not.

You can also temporarily DEACTIVATE your account by going to settings: manage your account; I do it all the time. For the most part I am not on FB but I can activate it any time then deactivate when done

I had one last year for business reasons so no personal shit was on it. Not a single pic.

I never ended up using it.

I logged out and deleted the app and never went back.

Can they still follow me around?

I cant remember my password so cant get back in anyway.

If going to have FB app best to go to settings on your phone to adjust privacy. I noticed my microphone was being used by an app after the new update. I went to app and checked my settings all good but my mic was still being accessed. I went to phone settings. Sure enough it was FB.

why should it be the users responsibility to protect their privacy?

GLP must have intentionally installed the Facebook Pixel.

this means that Facebook inc. has your real world identity and can link it to your activity on GLP, especially your profile. Not only that they can link it to your friends, and given whats happening with releasing social media information and the effects it has on one's personal life, that's a pretty big deal.

by being a member of FB/Twitter/YT you show your support of their ways of doing business. its simple as that...

the "familiy contact" is a bad excuse...there are plenty of alternatives to FB...

Never put a social networking app on your phone. Their sole purpose is to link you up and get info about you to share. It is not just a messenger. It is spyware. Don't be fucking stupid.

And to add to that..

If your wife or GF has this shit on their device. Any communication you have with her, any info about you in her contacts, any images on her device with you and her, is now Facebook property. This is no lie.

I deleted mine months ago.

Thanks but I do not think this affects me. I keep a strong separation between computers and gadgets such as cell phones. I don't do FaceBook from cell phones.

Unless just having FB on my computer (open on a tab in a browser) could somehow compromise my use of paypal or banking via the webpage my bank uses, I don't see it affecting me.

You should be golden then. But anything about you on someone else’s device that has the Facebook app is another story. Just control what images you share, and with who. I cant tell you how many smart people in a enterprise setting ive seen just install that damn app and share their entire contact list and images without paying attention.

And half those retards actually keep a password list in a contact card. So they shared their fucking password list with Facebook.

I like “offline” apps. Search the App store.
