I'd like your opinion on a small piece of music I wrote.

take this constructive to help you move forward.

1 over quantized, no feel
2 way too fast, again no feel
3 way to digital/harsh, no warmth in the instruments

so slow it down and play the virtual instruments live with no quantize then go into midi editor and fix the mistakes.
lastly separate the tracks and eq, compress, add some reverb or room ambience and maybe a tape saturator to get a warm classical feel like it's real string instruments.

the arrangement is nice if it was slowed down to feel it.

music is 90% about mood, 10% technical.

I like it . The end got a bit too cluttered . the bagpipes were a nice touch . the strings could have faded out as the pipes brought in with maybe a stepped pitch sustained 808 or something seeing as this was obviously a synth piece.


That sounds pretty cool actually a bagpipe with sustained 808 bass line stepped up for the progression of the pipes.


One thing I dont like which isnt your fault but just how empty and robotic synthetic babpipe notes sounds . There's no natural progression of the notes just hard changes at the end of each sound file.


Overall I liked it . Just try to to match instruments a little better and try to differentiate clashing instruments or sound files . like strings and pipes at the same time.

The only way I found where you can use two clashing instruments like that is if they're both tone/note matched in their progression . And when you do that it sounds cool .

I liked it until about halfway through.
Then it sounded like 2 songs fighting each other.

Find a way to work a bagpipe in to it.

It needs more cowbell.

Sounds like music you might hear playing in the background as some busy chick begins her busy day and she's putting on her makeup using her phone in selfie mode as she's driving down the freeway headed to work. (you already know where this is headed so I'll spare you the graphic traffic fatality details)

So .. write the rest of the musical score. Pickup up right before she slams her car into the bridge pylon.

As I wind down in bed, I must say that really relaxed me. Composers blow my mind. Beautifully done and please do post more of your works...

I will, the school Im doing for this is really good and im only into the first quarter of it. I'll soon enough post full pieces once I understand the full structure of compositions.

Few thoughts.
Sounded a little muddy towards the end - like all of the sounds were fighting with each other
And I was waiting for a smooth transition into something slower... that never arrived. Not that it needed to arrive, just seemed a bit rushed. I would like to hear it again when you’ve made your adjustments.

Yes, this. I like it but it kind of made me anxious and not in a good way. I could envision a lady in big poofy dress running through the fields to her lover's house and embracing him in a mad passionate kiss. All in secret of course.

Its really lovely.. I kept getting flashes or scenes from early American times. Nice job op 👍
