If you watch that video... you can see that the government is subsidizing the housing costs of corporations and their low level workers because they are too cheap to pay a decent wage. Like any corporation, they are trying to maximize profit at all costs. You probably pay more in taxes for this lady to survive (because the money comes thru government bureaucracy which is no doubt more expensive and wasteful). It’s like would you rather pay a few more bucks for a hamburger or have high taxes which are wasted just to subsidize their actual cost of living. We need to start thinking about some of these things differently and not just our party’s ideology and rhetoric
