Honestly, I don't think he was mocking her, just stating a fact. Like I said earlier, raising her wages to $15 will do nothing for her, they will just cut her welfare.

Do you know how many working poor there are? Those moms and dads don't have as nice a place as her and probably less food and NO medical, and they don't get to spend all their time with their kids as she clearly does since she's only working a few hours. What would Jesus think about the working poor being snubbed on a daily basis?

My mom worked three minimum wage jobs in FL and couldn't qualify for assistance while my black high school gym teacher drove a Lincoln and supplemented her income with food stamps.

I grew up in Vermont, home of the Welfare Queen. I am 100% against this lifestyle.

I also know many people who needed a couple years of assistance to get on their feet. I would rather pay out welfare benefits to keep kids fed and sheltered rather than making them homeless.

Good G/d what some dillusional propaganda. This girl will be no better off at $15 an hour because she's obviously NOT working full time, AND, then she would lose all her cushy benefits.

Wow, so here are some things I also noticed.

1. Her house is VERY nice, two story, granite counters, and she only pays like $230 a month, sorry don't feel sorry for her.

2. She says she can't afford vegetables but has SODA in her cart.

3. She acts like they don't have enough food to eat, BUT she looks VERY well fed to me.

4. She says she only goes to doctor if she has too, well so what, so do most people, AND it's obviously all paid for.

5. She said a root canal was going to be $300, seriously, she's got to have benefits for that also, because no way root canal is only $300 around here.

6. She complains that she only has her second check of the month to buy her kid nice things, but if she got $15 an hour and lost all her benefits, she would have zero left to buy her kid anything. I know, been there, done that.

7. Funny how she even splits her housing price with her sister. My understanding is that you can't have others living with you when you're getting free housing.

8. She doesn't realize how lucky she is to even have free housing. In Florida, there's usually a two-year waiting period, and will mostly NOT go to whites for some reason.

9. As a side note, those boots look pretty dang pricey.

This is totally wrong. What I would say is those jobs (at least for me) were a starting point. You do them when you're super young and work your way up. Start showing work experience and then continuing to switch jobs. Those jobs are not careers.

I'm a VP today. Did not go to college.
1st job a restaurant, then went to computer school, 2nd job a restaurant, and finally got an opportunity working on computers. From there I kept working and switching companies, growing every time.

Again - I realize this isn't possible for some. It also doesn't help when you're having kids at 17-18 years old. My mother was 18 when she had me and I'm well aware of the struggles.

So she makes 6k a year and then daddy gov gives 11k. I have lived on 20 grand (real earned money) before and didn't have a place as nice as hers.

Yea it sucks being a single mom and working at the clown place but damn, unless she was raped, that kid was her choice. That is paid for by the 11k from daddy gov. Where is my 11k? I am a dude so can't impregnate myself but damn. I want my little slice of life payment from big daddy gov.

Poor life choices, why the hell should I have to pay for her bad choices!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78894181

It's not her poor life choices. The same happened to me. But you shouldn't have to pay for it. Still, you have been for over a hundred years. You pay $10-$20 in extra income taxes for every $5 value meal McDonalds sells.

And they pocket all the profit while you pay her childcare, healthcare and food stamps.

Are you going to blame her? Or are you going to blame the bastards the government that set up this corporate welfare scam?

Do you still shop at Walmart?

Do you still shop at McDonalds?

This shit doesn't stop till their parking lots are empty.
 Quoting: Green Eggs & Ham

But the McRib is back for a limited time...
 Quoting: Soundman

I LOVE you, lol. Thank you for that funny in a dark conversation. :D

...

I grow fruit and vegetables, buy healthy food to eat. I don’t shop at Walmart, you couldn’t pay me to eat any fast food crap and yet I still pay for the welfare scam...yes I do blame her.
 Quoting: lazydaze

So you mean to tell me that you haven't bought a single item at Walmart, from Amazon, Best Buy, Target, any of those monster corporations in the past decade at least?

Not buying it.
 Quoting: Green Eggs & Ham

Ive’d used amazon but do my best to grow as much as I can and don’t even have WiFi. What do you do? You eat fast food and shop at Walmart I bet.
You’re blaming companies...it’s always someone else’s fault you have a crap life right? Raise the minimum wage and any small businesses that are left will fold. I’m not sure of your point. Again, what do you do?
 Quoting: lazydaze

Oh no, I jumped in on that conversation but I wasn't supporting the idea of changing the minimum wage at all. That's irrelevant.

As far as what I do, I've only started. I haven't even figured out the toilet paper problem yet. We have a small factory in town so I may visit them with a plan.

Meanwhile, no, I actually don't eat fast food, literally ever. I'd vomit. I haven't eaten anything like that for years and years. And I haven't shopped at Walmart either, but they're just one company. I HAVE shopped at Amazon, but killed my account the day I saw the Catherin Austin Fitts interview. Here it is by the way: [link to www.bitchute.com (secure)]

This is a new idea for me, and like I said, it's going to require an enormous lift. Maybe a concept like a "middle class union" to tweak their noses a bit. Only buy from these businesses that aren't traitors trying to kill us all.

I'm just now coming up with this idea so I'll take input with great appreciation.
 Quoting: Green Eggs & Ham

Go to estate sales, they are generally run by small local businesses. The money generally goes to the estate sale company and the estate (occasionally the money goes to the bank, you can often research the address history beforehand)

You can get many material goods that are still very good (be careful of things which can't be easily washed/cleaned; watch out for old dishes and cookware and silverplate which can contain lead (and other heavy metals))

Sometimes they even sell toilet paper, though I am not sure if I would be up for that

I agree. Not too many years ago we didn't expect young mothers and pregnant women to work.
Pregnancy and properly taking care of a young infant/child are difficult.
We should consider how working impacts the health of the women and children--
The US has one of the highest maternal mortality rates of the developed world-- The african american population bears a huge portion of this mortality rate.

Re: This is $7.50 an hour life
Where others see poverty, I see privilege. According to givingwhatwecan.org her income places her in the top 3rd wealthiest people in the world. If you include the benefits she is qualified for, she’s in the top 17%. She has clothes with no holes, a cell phone, internet, transportation, medical care, a house with solid walls and no leaks, heating and air conditioning, can afford to not have to garden or hunt for her meals, access to a library and the internet for education, time on busses to learn, someone to help with the kid, indoor plumbing so she doesn’t have to haul water, conveniences like diapers, multiple rooms in her house, classy boots, a nice hairdo, jewelry... I can go on.

The biggest improvement she might make is following the USDA’s guidelines on groceries. She can cut her food bill in about half by following their simple recommendations, and feel better/be healthier at the same time. Second biggest improvement is to utilize all the time waiting on busses to read free books from the library or listen to their free audiobooks to gain the next step in her career, using that cell phone.

If she wants to rise into the top 10% of income as most Americans earn, it is good to know she lives in a privileged nation and a privileged city. She can find someone working the job she loves and interview them to find out exactly what she needs to do to get into the same career. If it requires a college degree, she no doubt qualifies for free schooling, or a scholarship. But even jobs which say they require a degree will still hire the right person. I have no degree but my job usually requires a degree, and I am working.

It is only because we live in a culture of greed that a low-skilled worker can earn the top 3rd richest income in the world yet be considered poor.

7.50 x 80 = 600 after taxes about 500$ not 240....so she is not working full time at 7.50 and has a child. This is noone elses fault or responsibility. work more, get a better job.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67904014

Get a better job.
When you have to catch a bus that runs 2-3 times a day, not convenient to your shift to get anywhere near a place that offers a better job.
Not to mention finding childcare or affording it to work longer hours.
Fuck that.
Pay a living wage. It's about time we recognize the slave masters for what they are. Cut or cap CEO salaries. Why does anyone need to make more than a half million a year? Seriously, if you can't find affordable housing, a decent car, childcare, and groceries for a half million you're just greedy. No one works hard enough to deserve more than that. No one.
It's all about paradigms and the lies you're being sold.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71274272

So you pay them a “livable” wage... say... one that starts at $20 an hour for a job that requires no skill or higher training. Now everyone who does have skill or training and are starting out their careers making $20 an hour will want more.. and that goes ALL the way up the line and stops at the director position. This is a HUGE cost to ANY business, because you are no longer just paying the lowest tier a lot more, but EVERYONE up to and including directors positions. That cost goes back into the cost of the product produced, thereby making EVERYTHING more expensive.

More people suddenly making more money want to rent better places and buy more apartments and small homes. Suddenly the cost of rent and property go way up because of demand and, also, quite suddenly people now making a “livable wage” can’t afford rent anymore and everyone else also finds themselves paying higher rent over time because of it. Same goes for the price of preowned and new vehicles as well. Actually, the immediate demand of non-essentials suddenly goes up tremendously due to newly imposed imbalance of supply to demand.

So now you are right back where you started. People making $20 an hour for no skill or higher training work not being able to afford anything. Except everyone else with skilled work suddenly are having a difficult economic time as well.

Because no skill or low skill labor is meant to be temporary while you go through a University or trade school and get skilled up in a job that actually requires technical skills and therefore are compensated for those technical skills you accrued. The more you learn and experience you garner in that field of skill the more you are worth for your know how. This is how the system rewards people who work hard and accrue knowledge. You get better positions with higher pay because you know more and have more experience doing technical things.

You have a baby? Too bad. Either you wanted a baby before being ready or it happened by mistake before you were ready economically for one. Now you have a lot harder time getting educated and trained. But you CAN do it, there are government help systems out there for you. Just go get educated and don’t sit on your ass taking advantage of those systems and doing nothing.

Also, one last thing for the retards that hate me for writing all of this:

AUTOMATION IS HERE. TODAY. Your no skill or low skill job is amongst the EASIEST to replace with machines. They WILL (soon) eventually replace you with a machine, because: machines are faster, cleaner, don’t get sick or talk back, don’t need vacation time or rest and lunch breaks, cost about as much as a low skill labor employee to implement and just keep getting cheaper as robotics and AI tech progresses and more companies jump onboard deploying them.

Good luck.

I have a better idea? Purge narcissists from human civilization. Especially bold faced, pathologically lying narcissists.

Your looking at a two week pay period. So yeah, the person your quoting is making $250 a week, working 40 hours a week. There are no "better jobs", for most people. Those "better jobs" were either shipped out or foreigner's imported to take the jobs that couldn't be readily shipped out.

$7.50 is not enough to live on and min wage should be increased.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78445863

Minimum wage is not supposed to be enough to live on. You earn a decent wage by having a marketable skill. If you have no or few marketable skills, you get minimum wage. It's supposed to be incentive to better yourself by improving your skill set. It's not meant to sustain a family. If you're still earning minimum wage at 22 you've made some bad life choices.

Re: This is $7.50 an hour life
There are two separate issues going on here:

1: She jacked off her free public education and got pregnant by some thug who's now doing time and can't provide for her or her kid. Lots of bad life choices there for which no one but her is responsible.

2: Number 1 not withstanding, McDonald's is deliberately working her at part-time hours at minimum wage. All those billions of dollars in aid to that woman are subsidizing McDonald's just as much as they are subsidizing her. No reputable company should be able to schedule employees at, say, 30 hours per week, and then have them clock out early when they feel like it, reducing their hours to 20. This makes it impossible for her to maintain a regular schedule and to potentially obtain a second part-time job.

The last federal minimum wage raise was 11 years ago. We all know things cost more now than they did in 2009, and I remember everyone having the same arguments back in 2007 when that legislation was passed about how raising the minimum wage to $7.25 would bankrupt American companies.

It didn't.

Now, should she be earning $15/hour in my mind? Hell, no! Not unless you're going to double my salary as well. She's in a low-income job for a reason, and that's because she made bad choices that the rest of us didn't make. However, now that she's older and wiser and if she wants to start making better decisions, her employer bears some responsibility for keeping her in the situation she's in.

Here's my suggestion so we can stop having this argument every decade: Pass a federal minimum wage law that incorporates two things:

1: The minimum wage automatically goes up 1% every year on January 1st. That way corporations can budget for a gradual increase in minimum wage rather than these sudden large bumps every decade or so. They know it's coming, so they can prepare for it easily.

2: Mandate annual raises for employees who work for a company longer than a year. McDonald's should not be allowed to keep an employee who was worked for them for a year at the same wage in perpetuity. She knows their system by now and doesn't require any training unless she moves up the management chain. If she shows up and does her job well enough that they don't fire her, that should be worth a little extra income each year. Also, if they schedule her for 30 hours, she should be allowed to work those 30 hours. How can she even attempt to work out a budget or a schedule for a second part-time job if her scheduled hours are subject to change without notice?

I'm conservative enough to say I should not have to pay for problems that are a result of her bad choices. I'm conservative enough to say that doubling the salary of a high-school diploma single mother while keeping my college-educated salary the same is immensely unfair to me and minimizes my hard work and education in ways that piss me off beyond measure. However, I'm also liberal enough to recognize that big corporations are forcing me to pay for her problems anyway by not allowing her to earn up to her full potential income with them, even at minimum wage, and that CEOs easily afford to take a 1% salary cut so that every single one of their employees can have a 1% raise, and they'd still be able to afford that new Lear jet.

Re: This is $7.50 an hour life
Good G/d what some dillusional propaganda.

I have a nice house with payments close to hers. I live in a mixed area because there are nice houses for cheap. And the benefit is that when I bought this house 8 years ago It was the best yard on the street. Now the neighbors both white and black are keeping their yards much better and the trash on the street is gone too. Don't fuss at your neighbors. Be an example, a good one.

2. She says she can't afford vegetables but has SODA in her cart.

And? I get myself 36 cans of soda a month and several gallons of ice tea.

3. She acts like they don't have enough food to eat, BUT she looks VERY well fed to me.

There's where you're missing a lot. Know why poor folk are fat? I'm fat and I'm pretty poor. It's because cheap food is fattening and just one step above poison. So you get fat and sick. I have never and will never be able to afford decent food. And my wife isn't very good at turning raw veggies into edible food. But damn she can fix a sandwich.

4. She says she only goes to doctor if she has too, well so what, so do most people, AND it's obviously all paid for.

Yeah I did it too for as long as I could. I raised my kids and they went to the dr when they needed to. Like when one got bit by a copperhead. Or when he broke his hand being a teen and punched the metal door. Or when one's appendix was bad. But I didn't get that from him. I told him what was wrong and he spent a day finding out I was right.

5. She said a root canal was going to be $300, seriously, she's got to have benefits for that also, because no way root canal is only $300 around here.

I couldn't afford any root canals. had to get what was left of my teeth pulled and that still was impossible to afford so I spent decades in agony from them. And if you can't afford a dentist you can go to a dental school and volunteer. It's painful and poor quality but they can fill a cavity or pull a tooth for free.

6. She complains that she only has her second check of the month to buy her kid nice things, but if she got $15 an hour and lost all her benefits, she would have zero left to buy her kid anything. I know, been there, done that.

Second check? She get's a second check? Who sends out two checks a month??

7. Funny how she even splits her housing price with her sister. My understanding is that you can't have others living with you when you're getting free housing.

And sometimes a sibling needs help. Or you do. Splitting rent is a good way to make ends meet. I've rented out my enclosed porch to one or two of my stepkid's friends and that money Helped me survive and without it I would have been out a house. Even though my payment is $240 a month.

8. She doesn't realize how lucky she is to even have free housing. In Florida, there's usually a two-year waiting period, and will mostly NOT go to whites for some reason.

I did it the hard way, I saved my money for 20 years to have a good enough down payment so my house payment was doable. Thing is, they will never own a house. Cheap rent is hard to find. So they're screwed any way they go. Everyone should save until they can buy a house. Even if it takes 20 years. It will totally be worth it. The funny thing is my house is worth over $100,000 now and I did not buy it anywhere near that. It's almost quadrupled in 7 years.

9. As a side note, those boots look pretty dang pricey.

I don't buy expensive shoes. Never understood why anyone would.

Why did I answer your questions? Because I am a SSI recipient and that is $500 less than minimum wage per month.

Thing is, I'm pretty smart and can plan ahead. Those of her hue seem to be unable to plan for the future or think more than 5 minutes ahead. And appear to be able to believe any stupid thing said on tv.
