She was much loved for her kindness to all and healing gifts. The priest came daily and we all prayed for her. I stopped in after work and was crying and holding her little hand and she lifted it and slapped me lightly and said,'just all of you stop it.You're keeping me here with chains of tears. You know better than that!I love you all so much, but I love my mom and dad and my little son who died as an infant, they are in that room waiting for me to come to my real home finally. And Ive accepted a job over on the other side...lots of our young kids are in such peril, drugs, suicide...and now I can help them. I wont ever leave you all, just be outta sight...you can cry one day, and thats all. Be happy for me, my soul is packed an ready to go and ya know I love to travel. We were stunned, She slept and we pulled her fluffy blanket around her. Next a.m. I awoke peacefully and smelt roses all around the house. I drove over although it was early and the aunties were up said to me "We were going to call you, Granny's gone. and her walking staff with the eagle feather (which she kept in the corner) was gone, too." She looked so content and happy. Now Im 80 and I still smile at how she took off on us on her own terms...as usual. Im gonna send this to all my kids and grandkids and their little ones and ask them not to make it hard for us old ones to leave. Sorry we didnt keep a better watch over the world we're leaving for you. But we know we go to a better home and Ill have a freezer full of blueberry pies waiting for you when you cross over, so behave so you'll come home to me.
