As soon as another system and coin rises to the fore which is far more useable in real terms and institutional money starts flooding into it making it moon, most retail investors will cash out of BTC and jump on the new train.

Bitcoin wallets are unhackable. There is no documentation of hacking a wallet.

Plenty of documentation of losing passphrases, losing coins, sending coins to wrong addresses, having passwords stolen, etc. But the math only goes one way.

It would take hundreds of years minimum for a single address to be "hacked" by brute force math.

Also this is the new cold war arms race. So this tech is going to be unleashed in a BIG WAY.

They will standardize and centralize a digital currency globally. They will decide what goods and services can be exchanged. And they will track every move you make. That has to be the plan. It's the only way to dominate the world.

What Yellen said has been true since the invention of bitcoin and crypto currencies. However, what his comment really means for the crypto space is that all crypto exchanges like coinbase will have to know your identity by using (KYC) before they allow you to purchase, sell or transfer bitcoin and any other crypto coins.

It's slowly been happening the last few years. It's not bitcoin that's the problem. It's anonymous transfers that could allow all the bad stuff Yellen talks about to happen.

The government knows it can't stop bitcoin unless they shut off the power grid world-wide. . . so instead they go after the places where bitcoin is bought and sold. First in this country and then overseas. Even exchanges overseas have started asking for proof of identity before they give your an account that lets you move large amounts of crypto. They have also been blocking American users from accessing their sites for the past few years. Once the exchange knows your identity the government,if it needs to, can easily find out your history and track all of your bitcoin because everything is public on the bitcoin blockchain.

With untraceable crypto privacy coins like monero this KYC plan still works. Eventually the bad guys will need to cash them in or exchange them on an exchange for Fiat currency and that's where they know your identity.

So that's how I think they will control things moving forward. The government just wants their cut of the action. For many years the crypto space has been like the wild west or like an off shore bank account. . . It has been slowly changing during Trump's presidency and I imagine it will continue with Biden's more rapidly.

Just pay your taxes on crypto when you cash in and you will be fine!
