I wish to create a thread about this incredible state. I lived there for many years and all over the state. I have been to just about every area of it. Quoting: —Taoist— I plan to retire there in the neat future, however, I am worried that the Californicators moving in are destroying it. I wish to retire on the eastern slope for very specific reasons, namely, it appears to be one of 5e safest places to live during the coming polar reversal resulting from the micro-nova that will occur around the early 2040’s. The great rocky mtns will take the blunt of the wave from the pacific that will be incoming. Some of the water may reach up and over but it will be minuscule compared to what will come. Post away, about anything! It's spelled San Luis Valley, which is the highest altitude alpine valley in the USA. I'm at 8250 feet. Snow on the ground and much more on the Sangre De Cristo mountains. My apologies , did not known even though been through it a dozen times probably. Still beautiful! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Forget the red or the blue pill. Apparently when the sun goes down the vampires and strange witches and creatures come out. No one in their right mind should be there after dark. I thought this was total BS, but have actually heard from several people It’s so ironic because Manitou Springs is like the tourist Mecca and full of gift shops and tourist crap. Oh and Several Bigfoots live near the border of El Paso County and Douglas County. And the Broncos currently suck. |

Manitou Springs is old commie hippieville from decades ago. I intentionally avoid the front range as much as humanly possible. Too many fucked up liberals. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 37954641 United States 01/15/2021 09:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was born and raised there. The climate is great there's not much humidity and you have the wonderful Four Seasons. The Denver Front Range is an unsustainable model of growth as virtually all the food is trucked in and very few people have Gardens and greenhouses. This is not a sustainable model in a national crisis. I have family out there that I have begged to move out to the Midwest. Still it's a wonderful place to ski and hike and I personally love mountain biking at Mount Falcon Park on the single-track trails. The Colorado Trail at Kenosha pass is also a wonderful place for hiking and solitude. We scattered my dad's ashes at Kenosha pass in the high Aspen country and Pines. It's a great place to pray and meditate out of the city. |

Love it there you stay away from downtown and Manitou Springs too many pink haired weirdos with attitudes but most of the city is friendly people horrible drivers but that's because of all the Military wives on the road.
