Anybody remember the Amerika miniseries from the 80's?

I'll always remember this miniseries-- it was contemporary with the original Red Dawn, but, seemed to strike a chord. I remember the ending of it was fairly demoralizing.

In a way, there are elements that seem to be playing out but perhaps with different actors/scenarios.
