I don't know if there is a 'next best place'. Here in the US, if I had young children and were considering a move to buffer us from the upcoming totalitarian government - I would look to states with Governors that are not compromised. I would also look to states with a large population of like minded citizens.

If I were to move abroad - I would look towards nations that still have a strong hold on sovereignty, cultural identity and leadership that supports these ideas - ie, Poland, Hungary, etc.
