All the way down? Half mast?

Are they putting up a different flag as a signal? Upside down for distress? White for surrender?

Skull and Crossed bones to signify that no quarter will be given and that all your booty now belongs to us?

Lowered for Ashli Babbit?

This is not unusual when someone of importance, or perceived importance, has passed away!

I suggested they lower the flag the day after Ashli Babbit died.

Just to let you know, she served in Afaghanastan.

She was a real hero

To honor her memory, I presume. Will someone paint her in a mural, with little angel wings?

It should have been lowered within an hour of the official notification of the death of a capitol police officer. The capitol lowered their flag 2 days ago. The WH is late.

Flags aren't lowered for police deaths, unless that officer was important (before death). If this is for the officer who died, then it is being done for purely political reasons and is a shameful bit of pandering.

After all, if we lower the flag for this man, then why not the officer who killed himself last night? What about the woman from 911 dispatch who passed from cancer? Or the assistant dogcatcher who was hit by a car while on duty?

All of these people are worthy, of course, but the flag will always be down if we start doing that, so, as a rule, we don't.
