And that was the height of those born in the 1950s to 64. They had gone through the Vietnam war and were living it up. Lots of money and prosperity. Now they are retiring and entering independent living facilities. Now anything to do with retirement and death is where it is at. Shopping malls and McMansions are a thing of the past. The 80s like the 1920s was an age of decadence. *High occurred after a war. The next decade saw the decline. We will see it also. But whatever goes down does go up again.

I think it was from early 1950's to mid 1960's

Almost everyone was decent and actually tried to be good.

Today it seems like it's a competition to see how deviant everyone can be.

Check out a film called "Dangerous Liaisons" (It's awesome) and then realize it's taken from a novel written in the 18th century (I think) 1782 to be precise.

People enjoy being deviant for quite some time, it seems.

I'm in no way trying to say that the deviancy we see today is "new".
It's just accepted openly in a social way we haven't seen for hundreds of years.
The media is pushing pedophilia and soon bestiality.
Anything goes in this post-modern era.
"Be as bad as you can be" seems to be the life motto of the average person today.
Society has collapsed and it isn't worth trying to fight to fix. It is destined for the shitter of history.
