I have saw this effect before. It is something to do with very humid air, the temperature changes and different air pressure on opposite sides of the tunnel.

I do not know the exact scientific way to explain it but thing of something like a storm on one side of the mountain and sunshine on the other side causing the pressure waves to travel through the tunnel.


But if I was a scientist I would just say I was baffled and be done with it

Why would a wormhole fit perfectly in the confines of a tunnel? I would expect to see a wormhole in midair, in the center of a mountain, in the middle of a skyscraper.

Wormholes are not going to conform to a tunnel shape. Plus, aren't they infinitely small? Far too small for the human eye to see.
