This is dumb. You would never have a miniseries where Martin Luther King is Hispanic or Korean.

Giving money to a racist organization like Netflix that supports pedophilia.

Never mind that Clooney is a giant piece of trash in the pedophile club that is massive friends with the Obamas. Nevermind the fact that the Obamas have heavy stakes in Netflix.

Lieutenant Colonel Robert Friend shows up as a character in the Project Blue Book series and in The Vast of Night. He is a historical figure and it is entirely appropriate that he shows up, whether acknowledged by name or not.

That is not being woke; it is American history.

Cell (2016) had a promising premise of an electronic signal which makes most people lose their marbles and become homicidal maniacs. It is okay for a Sunday afternoon diversion if nothing else is on, but was made so halfassed that is a shame.

The Signal (2007) often gets missed as there is anthor filmed called the Signal (2014). Both are worth watching but have nothing to do with one another.

The Signal (2014)

The Signal (2007) covers the same group as Cell, but the actors took it more seriously and it is fresher whereas Cell(2016) feels like bored well off actors just mechanically going through the motions and are irritated with their agents.

I am so sorry I watched it, just premiered on Netflix.

It's like Gravity, only even more depressing and more self-important.

Not one likeable character. Horrible soundtrack for maximum gloom--too slow single cello or piano in creepy minor chords.

No beauty because presumably all green stuff and animals are dead.

You can't breathe the air--"Or you will die if you remove your mask!!"

Clooney directs and stars and wants us maybe to all die in our masks. What a dick.

A descriptive film like 12 Monkeys with a suffering hero who wildly succeeds when his handlers didn't think he would, and falls in love in an unlikely affair, and saves the worldfrom a contagion, just immediately resonates with most viewers.

It has enjoyable zany characters of actors immersing themselves in the role.
[link to m.youtube.com (secure)]

That is what the average American wants. They do not want woke propaganda. You can watch 12 Monkeys ten times, and it is still enjoyable. That is why they made a tv show about it.

If they stupidly remade it, which they eventually will, they will RUIN it.

i'm no george clooney fan and i don't care for the hollywood establishment

but i saw this and it was not a bad movie at all

the premise is that earth is contaminated with radiation after a worldwide nuclear catastrophe which is never explained

a manned space mission is going on at the same time after exploring a potentially habitable planet

they're on their way back to earth unaware that it's now uninhabitable

clooney's character spends the movie trying to warn them

it was not a bad movie

but there was one part that is an easter egg for those who believe hollywood is chock full of pedophiles

[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)]

the song was apparently penned as a tribute to jfk's 11 year old daughter caroline which is sickeningly inappropriate

this was the one song in the film that they randomly played to entertain the astronauts on their space walk and all the characters sang along

anyone remember the photos of george clooney in the boat with obama and an unknown little black girl?

yeah

The Dead Zone (1983) is a very good Stephen King nivel treatment into a descriptive paranormal film about a suffering hero who is a kind schoolteacher and loving person who loses everything in a car accident. And after seven years in a coma wakes up and has a bad limp and lost the love of his life, loses his mom, and has gained precognition psychic abilty.

It is a classic example of a film of lasting artistic merit that appeals to almost everyone and is not woke in any possible way. The audience empathizes and cheers his success even though he ends up assassinating a president. That is remarkable scriptwriting. But we cheer because he saves the world from nuclear holocaust.

Was anyone offended by the supernatural thriller Fallen (1998)? I doubt it. An African American detective puts away a serial killer who is executed, and then the same MO is used in new murders by a seemingly new serial killer. But it is a demon who possesses random people and so keeps destroying humanity.

And the fact that he reaches out to the daughter of a detective who committed suicide, and develops a close friendship with a white lady is not offensive at all. She helps him understand these are demonic possession cases.

There is nothing woke about this production. It is a compelling conquering hero descriptive film. There is no need to make it propaganda at all. It follows the tried and true hero's journey and it does not matter that he is black.

You could watch it every year for a decade and it still seems fresh. There is nothing wrong with this film. It is scary and entertaining and you want him to succeed.

Every once in awhile, the Illuminati allow a film like the Neon Demon to be made as an art piece that extreme leftists suppose is a statement on male patriarchy and feminism, when actually it is outright explaining how a kind of immortal occult ritual is created to achieve a last depravity in exchange for satanic power.

Shadow of the Vampire masks itself as art-horror using the milieu of vampirism and sensuality as a backdrop of the immortality of cinema. When actually that is the Illuminati trying to subvert younger people so they are pliant and then are fertile ground to plant Luciferian seeds to raise up a new generation.

It is obvious if you watch both films on the same day.

The Neon Demon is just more overt as they don't have to pretend as much.

Monsters (2010) is a low budget sci-fi film that is only in the vaguest way possible is thematically woke.

A young photojournalist sells his photos to a news organization. He has been tasked with documenting what has happened in Mexico as various alien species have contaminated meteors which struck and then invaded the region. Thus the USA walls off Mexico so they do not spread.

While there, the publisher's daughter is alone and stranded and he is supposed to help her which he is irritated about.

Well she is adorable with a girl next door beauty and sincerity and sparks fly.

What I like about the film is this couple actually fell in love and this is obvious in the film as they can't hide it. And the aliens vary greatly from like a fungus form or very minor creatures to a predator like a tentacled alligator to an obvious very sentient couple of giant aliens with bioluminescence that may be communicating that way.

It is a fascinating film. The sequel is just okay as they changed the tone to a military drama.

A film like Monsters (2010) is charming as everything is understated and you like the characters and you want them to safely get out and for them to have a future as their affection for one another didn't feel contrived or forced. And not like ordinary extraterrestrial films that are formulaic and you know everything that will happen like a checklist. This ain't that. The aliens are weird as aliens should be. These are not beings you can communicate with and they feel trapped and out of place.

It is a fine film and worth watching and is NOT lecturing you the whole time and saying you are stupid if you have different ideas from the cast and crew.

Annihilation (2018) is an art sci-fi horror film that is a descriptive hero film. The problem is it is cerebral, very scientific, and philosophical. Some felt it would be impossible to film and require a trilogy and probably 300 million invested.

A strange phenomena occurs in a growing region and this alarms governments as it will spread. They have been totally unsuccessful sending all kinds of diverse scientific teams, and now are trying random ideas to see it varying the team composition will produce a more fruitful outcome.

So a scientist previous had her husband enter and return, and now she and three women are tasked with entering. It is dangerous everytime as some do not cope well mentally with the stress of the extreme phenomena found inside.

What happens would spoil it, but it fundamentally alters people and who went in is not the same person who leaves.

It is worth your time, is not really woke, but is a challenging film that will make you think. This is not a monster movie or a typical alien encounter or really any sci-fi film you probably have ever seen.

A case could be made that the phenomena is invading and taking over the Earth and fundamentally altering reality. And so it is very scary as it will catalyze every creature. It is not necessarily hostile. It might be a method of warfare or it could be some kind of physical creative process that transforms. Or it could be a sentient analytical being. It just exists and probably cannot be halted so that induces horror and doom.

Garland prior made Ex Machina which poses the wisdom of creating sentient life and thus reinventing slavery as the creation has no free will and no natural rights. If that is so, then the human creator is malevolent and can we blame such a creation if it tries to harm its creator and escape?

Why would such a created sentient being actually be human? It would be able to approximate human beings, but then it is merely pretending to fit in.
[link to m.youtube.com (secure)]

A more entertaining film is Machine with Caity Lotz. She is an AI researcher and is very likeable and easy to be with. Her charm and personality and programming then ends up being the basis for a new sentient lifeform.

As such, inadvertently her affection for the chief AI researcher then causes the Machine to love the creator.

This is a very well done low budget film.
[link to m.youtube.com (secure)]

As Caity is a talented dancer and very grateful as well as being an action star, then that is shown in the film as the Machine is intended to be an assassin.

Morgan is a sci-fi science gone amok monster film. Many research teams are trying to create artificial life but without caring about the rationale to do so. One could call it a postmodern Frankenstein film.

One team wildly succeeds as they are very selfless and take care of an enhanced creature that seems to be a little girl. She rapidly matures and is frustrated as she feel trapped in a cage.

She lacks the normal emotional maturation process as she is perhaps 5 years old with remarkable strength and agility. She lashes out as she ends up accidentally blinding one of scientists.

Even though all the scientists universally praise her like proud parents, the business-like consultant believes the project is a failure so orders termination.

It is quite good with a twist ending. Some might be offended as the creature develops lesbian feelings for one of the scientists. This did not feel woke to me, but just peculiar as the creature has an apparent age of 18 and has totally inadequate time to develop any maturity and has no normal relationships. If that bothers you, then pass on this film. That would be a mistake in my opinion.

Critics who were woke then had a mixed response as then they felt this demonized lesbians. That is nonsense and shallow analysis.
