A lot of people are questioning this in Europe as well. What are Americans defending us from? Where is the threat? Should we fear Russian conservatism? Should we fear Russian patriotism and their faith in God? Should we fear communism? That is so 1980's, its 2020 now. Why should we push Russians aside form European family, Russians are Europeans. Where is the conflict, what is the schism between us? These are all legit questions.

I just think (maybe wishful thinking) that Russia is aware of this and wouldn't want to provoke western powers.

Russia and China don't need to invade.

Dividing & conquering through proxies is much easier (just ask the CIA!).

Russia are pushing ahead with BRICS, pipelines and decoupling from the dollar. China are pushing ahead with Belt & Road, global expansion and global influence.

You can bet that both are arming and funding (via US & Euro contacts) armed groups that will swing into action Syria style once big time civil unrest begins.

It's not unthinkable that they'd use the CIA's own playbook against it.
