The simple, best solution to this problem is NOT redistributing wealth, it is a flat tax.


X amount of taxes are paid based on total income PERIOD, no bullshit write offs, no deductibles, no special treatment, just a flat no bullshit tax.

I don't agree with some of her stances- some important things- but she seems like a real human being.

That is a terrible idea. You can retroactively change a tax.

If there was advance notice maybe a 65% overage, or maybe for companies with profits in the tens of millions at a minimum but for the small business that did well in 2020, that is an absurd idea.

Several people I've known who were required to go to Hawaii and live temporarily because of their occupations- told me that they were treated poorly- even hatefully and violently in some cases. I have not been there and it has never been on my bucket list.

Obama, the Bush family, the Clintons and many other politicians on both sides of the aisle just have a strange "vibe" - cold, weird- inhuman. Then there are humans who are mean, cowardly, greedy, dangerous in various ways, etc. Certainly human does not mean perfect- but I can "recognize them"/ relate to them and many of even their negative faults- that's the best I can describe it.

but things like this have a way of trickling down to the middle class and their companies...

I feel the same. There's a part of me that would love health care for all. On the surface it is humane and kind, but then I think of who would be in charge and all the bad doors it would open.

Well, the whole "tax code" needs to be changed to where they pay their rightful share of taxes- and small businesses get decent breaks. I think a simple, graduated flat tax would be good.

I'm a conservative, a rightwinger, but I can go for what left-leaning Gabbard wants to do. Even more so since a lot of people in the executive suites of corporate America are proverbial Limousine Liberals, if not flaming Champagne Socialists too.

As such, they're as greedy, dishonest, hypocritical and unethical as they come.

Because taxes are how Congres sticks its' screwdrivers deep into and tweaks the guts of the economy to the benefit of themselves and their "friends".

If the housing industry(carpenters unions/realtors) want more business; they pay a lobbyist to influence (pay) a congressman to introduce a homeowners tax cut or cut the lending interest rates.

A Flat rate tax does away with that entire industry of graft and influence peddling
