How many people are still trapped in this false "right vs. left" mindset? |

Everyday I read americablog, dailykos and huffington post. Every single day. If you actually happened to visit those sights, right now, you would see no mention of ron paul. y'all are stupid for generalizing from one dc gossip blog (wonkette is not really a political blog, it's a gossip blog) to all liberal blogs. Especially when you don't bother to read them. perhaps paultard is an apt description. I have nothing against the man, but boy, his disciples are very odd. |

Quoting: Evil TwinWonkette is kind of fun, but I don't know how popular it actually is. I hardly ever read it. Do you know how many PRO Ron Paul blogs there are out there? Just don't solicite these negative sites. You can't make anybody like him and you are only annoying the people that run the sites. Often times I suspect they do this stuff on purpose because they KNOW tons of Ron Paul supporters will flood the site, boosting their hits. All you are doing is helping them be more desirable for ads. |

First a disclaimer. I do not dislike Ron Paul. He is the only republican candidate that, if elected, I will continue to live in the US. Any other one, and I will be leaving. I will not, however, be voting for him, as our philosophies are vastly different, and I am not a supporter. I respect people's right to support him. However, the support on this site goes beyond normal. Look, I like Barack Obama. But for gawd's sake, I'm not in love with the man! Ron Paul is a career politican, folks, just like Hillary, just like Guiliani. He has spent 17 years in DC. If elected, he will not abolish the IRS, nor the federal reserve. I tend to doubt that he will even try. He would have to be elected president for life to accomplish this. He did not deliver 20,000 babies. He does not turn water into wine. He did not hang the moon. Like I said, I am not bashing RP. I have nothing against the man. But frankly, his supporters are starting to frighten me. I think they've lost touch with reality, honestly. What are you going to do if he doesn't win the republican nomination? I have it on good authority that he will not run as an independent, because that would throw the election to the democrats. At the end of the day, he's just another republick politician. My brother works (as in gets paid) for his campaign. My brother would like to throw people in jail that don't follow the constitution to the letter. I would be thrown in jail because I believe in the head start program and I don't mind paying taxes to teach young children how to read. So perhaps I will leave if RP is elected, as I really don't want to live in some dystopian, Ayn Rand influenced society. I LOATHE Ayn Rand. |

He is not incredibly popular on the left. His anti-war stance is the only thing he has in common with the progressives. Unfortunately, his popularity with racist groups and his anti-choice stance pretty much kill the deal for most progressives. |

Texas T, I believe the principles and foundation of Liberty and Freedom are what people love and about which they are greatly impassioned. This is in addition to a solid desire to return the control of government to the people using the mechanisms of state and local gov rather than less control, less results and more corruption from a dictating large, central, federal gov. (This is where you are missing the boat on your Head Start program statement.) People have more control at the state and local levels, which is one of the primary fears of the establishment. Ron Paul is only the face - the messenger - of these principles and ideals. . |
