Hermits upon Mount Meru or Everest, Caverned in night under the drifted snow, Or where that snow and winter's dreadful blast Beat down upon their naked bodies, know That day bring round the night, that before dawn His glory and his monuments are gone. Near them, on the sand, Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed; And on the pedestal, these words appear: My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair! Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.” |

(When some noticeable change has taken place) And... Same shit, same day. (When I'm dealing with the same shit at the beginning of one shift that I had to deal with on my last shift) So...how long does it take to get to the actual casket? Shovels or power tools? I have often wondered if people really are buried with their jewelry/money, etc. Ever get caught or have any stories to tell? “My religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave.” -Stonewall Jackson "The Bible that is falling apart usually belongs to a person who is not." - Charles Spurgeon “I apprehend no danger to our country from a foreign foe . . . Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing. Make them intelligent, and they will be vigilant; give them the means of detecting the wrong, and they will apply the remedy.” “If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper; but if we and our posterity neglect its instructions and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity.” -Daniel Webster |

I'm part Sicilian. Gravediggers have the mal'occhio (evil eye). Of course, maybe I have that anyway. |

One of the last jobs that I worked during the days was the US Army and during that time I always felt drowsy as hell during the day and I would not really wake up until after 1 PM. Today I work at night. Go to sleep around 0700 then wake up around 1300 and I feel so much better. And yes as a previous poster said it is nice or was nice to go into a 24 hour store after 12 AM because they were practically empty but unfortunately today COVID got rid of 24 hour stores in my area. |

Now I just have to stay awake sort of. Space out? Peter Gibbons : Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. |

Four nights a week I eat a second dinner at midnight and I have actually lost two or three pounds. In fact, I want to drop some more, so I think I'll start taking some home for the dog. Also, I have learned how to stay up all night again. For us old-timers that may be a useful skill again soon. |
