Food with Attitude!

I swear the Mexican coca-cola still has residual coke in it.
I rarely drink soda but we tend to have a few Mexican cokes about...ANyhow...leftover cottage/shepherd pie for dinner. I realized the lamb chops I bought at great discount were not quite enough for dinner for 2 last night so I added cheap steaks and I minced it all up. Now we are onto freeing up freezer space because Tuesday is coming up and we get huge discounts on things. SO time to get rid of bits and bobs, here and there.

We stayed home to clean today. Well then I spilled on my yogurt milkshakes all down the side of the bed.

I had to wash all the bedding down to the stupid padding. 5 loads with blankets and sheets.

But then I caught this and thought it was so cute. I've never seen a fish play before. I guess I should CC explain that's the water outflow she getting in. It's pretty strong.

I didn't have a single Trick or Treater, so once again this year, all the candy I bought is mine.

I vacated the house and went to an outerhood w tons of decor, still not 1 trick or treater, either.

I didn't spend any money on candy. but managed to eat 2 mini sneakers bars.

What's your favorite kind?

My daughter says she was going to go to the half price sales today since they didn't have any left.

I sent her the X link of the boy who left some of his candy in a bowl he'd found that was empty. Sweet boy!

Actually it's been about a week so I just texted him. I haven't heard back. I was texting pretty often there for a while. I'll let y'all know.

We just went to Walmart today for walking. It's cold and no money till tomorrow.

I saw this in the back with the restrooms. I was impressed. There was a nice little chair and table inside.

Oh a good bratwurst sounds good. I'm having grilled chicken and squash tonight. The neighbor is making chili so Woody will have that.

I just talked to Louis. He is doing ok. The skin is healing up but the bones have not. The nurse is still coming every 2 days to check on him.

I'm having a toasted grilled chicken (leftover) with cheddar on rye bread with acorn squash. I found that I can have pepperidge farm rye and pumpernickel so far that I've checked.

Also the remains of a ginger bread cake I made to share with the neighbors while we chatted.

Woody is excited that he can go get his tags for the new motorcycle tomorrow. He can actually take it out on the road!

Just...because...

Butternut squash and a hunk of Sharp cheese. I'm getting my fill while they're cheap. I got a spaghetti squash too so there will be leftovers.

Hey breakfast isn't a bad day meal, except maybe filet mignon.

I've got a hankering for squash it seems...never really liked it but in the last few years...yummy! As we go through the freezer (we did fish and ho-made chips tonight with some calamari rings), I find I've been drawn to a new thing...nothing to do with the freezer but the sad state of the veg drawer...with squash soup still in my head...creamed butternut squash/parsnip soup with bacon comes to mind. I'll have to ponder that recipe for a bit!

I think I just a saw the last of a sun rise. WTF am I doing out of bed? We're on our way to a good giveaway. It seemed kind of last minute, but we're hoping for a turkey.

So not hungry now, but I even made us breakfast bagels.

My favorite sweet treat lately is a warmed mini croissant topped with a peanut butter sauce and a spoonful of cherry pie filling. Just enough to fulfill my sweet tooth, but not too guilty.

Avenger, I never thought of having PB&J on a croissant.

I use this powdered peanut butter where you can make the sauce as thick or thin as you want. It's good stuff.

And, of course, real pie filling.

I bought some peanut powder I found some on sale I put in my preps, but I never tried it. I think it's sealed in mylar somewhere now so I don't want to try it that bad.

I went with easy supper tonite. I'm a little under the weather, so just made some brats and kd and a salad

The stuff on the kd is a seasoning called Northwoods that we love. I like the Northwoods Fire better, but wasn't up for it tonite.

Terrible pic, but I had been craving some fried cabbage. Ho-made whipped taters and biscuit, but grocery-store frozen flounder. Oh well, I tried.
