I bought some seeds at the dollar store yesterday. 4 for $1. They says non GMO. You'd think they'd be more.

I'm making chicken burritos tonight. Chicken is already cooked so I just have to mix taco seasoning, boil me some pintos and maybe tortillas. I'm not sure if the ones in the fridge are still good.

I thought it was an easy night. I forgot I should have cooked the beans yesterday, but I forgot.

Oh I love balsamic vinegar! That sounds yummy. :)

How have you been feeling lately?

I'm good. My back hurts some from my kidneys, but we went out to the park and walked. I'm not complaining!

I made chicken and bean burritos tonight. I ended up eating them with a fork. I was using up leftover tortillas and there just not as pliable after a few days.

May I ask what you do? I understand if you're not comfortable.

I used to do online sales. Granted I basically run on second shift timing anyway. I used to work crazy hours sometimes packing boxes at 4 am.

I miss it, but I don't if that makes sense.

Brown and white 'Shemiji' mushrooms

Plus some chicken stock, some beef stock, lots of tarragon and some fresh oregano will all be liquified shortly. Still tossing about the idea of adding some cubed potatoes.

Oh, this will draw out some potato envy. 5lb bag of local reds...$2.99 or $2.25 US!

So that and grilled jalapeno havarti on local rye with prosciutto. And, it just started raining!

Great thing I wasn't en route to the SUnshine Coast or anything (I'm still planning for a quick trip in a bit)...

We had roast pork, homemade sauerkraut, roasted root veg and mashed potatoes, with pepper sauce gravy. And orange poundcake loaf for dessert. I used 5 oranges making it, and it was delicious!

I had just bought another bag of gold at $4.99 before the sale went off. Nw another has reds for $3.99. It never falls, as soon as I buy, it goes on sale.

Leftovers tonight. Pork sandwiches with au gratin potatoes.

Woody wanted to try the cornstarch on zucchini. It's good, but not worth the extra effort. The coating isn't the same as on meat.

Ingredients
Texas Trash is primarily made of different Chex cereals, Cheerios, and nuts. This recipe uses a mix of the following:

Wheat, Rice, and Corn Chex – Use all three to give the snack diverse flavors and textures. You don’t have to use all of them, though! Just pick whichever variety you like.
Cheerios – Any flavor works.
Pretzel Crisps – Aside from the crunch, the saltiness also adds another layer of flavor to the mix.
Nuts – An assortment of peanuts, cashews, almonds, and walnuts. Put as many types of nuts as you can find!


The hodgepodge of crunchy ingredients is already fantastic as it is, but it’s made even more irresistible by adding these flavorings:

Melted Butter – Everything tastes better with butter. Used unsalted butter because you’ll already add a bunch of salts to the mix.
Celery Salt, Garlic Salt, and Salt – The medley of salts brings out the flavors in the dry ingredients.
Worcestershire Sauce – For that rich, umami goodness.
Cayenne Pepper and Tabasco Sauce – To give the snack a little bit of spice. You can adjust the amount to suit your taste.

I haven't had that in years. My mother would make this all the time in a 9x13 pan with a ton of garlic salt. It was delish. We called it something different in the Midwest at the time. Can't remember what it was.

That may go on my shopping list. ;)

I def miss those insanely salty snacks. I'm just dreaming posting this recipe. I'll never allow myself to eat it. I have a couple of decanted jars of sugary cheerios just sitting in the cabinet until the next holiday...
