Oh Para, I feel for you! I don't like bugs at all either. And those particular ants I've heard are a bitch to deal with.

Sorry this happened. Hopefully maintenance can get a handle on the problem soon!

Normally, I don't even care about their pest control. It's a joke.

If I see 1 roach, I buy a can of Bengal spray. It gets rid of them with one spraying.

Then I make them inspect the apt next door. It never fails, it's because they kitchen is dirty.

Re: Food with Attitude!
It was our stay at home day to do chores. Mr reached up in the top of the closet in our hall to put up a towel...and fire ants came falling out on him!! full of them.

Well Para, you’ve made this appear in my life, so I looked it up for the fun of it. I think they call that shits and gigles now. “...if you’ve been living a life of solitude, the appearance of this insect might be urging you to reconnect with other people.” I’m on it.

"In this case, Fire Ant symbolism says that you should never give up. Put differently, sighting this spirit animal inspires you to fiercely chase your goals and dreams. Alternatively, like the Meerkat, the Fire Ant meaning can represent the need for you to embrace teamwork. Finally, if you’ve been living a life of solitude, the appearance of this insect might be urging you to reconnect with other people.

These tiny creatures will viciously attack anyone who disturbs their nest. Thus an encounter with this spirit animal says that you should protect your personal space and energy. However, the Fire Ant symbolism could also be asking you to defend your family and home.

Furthermore, the Fire Ant meaning indicates hard work. Hence, when this insect crawls into your life, it reminds you that nothing good comes from laziness and procrastination. However, it would be best to balance your work – so that you don’t burn out. Fire Ants are also symbols of discipline, order, strength, patience, and self-sacrifice."

Wow it would seem that the fire ant is Mr's spirit animal. With the way life is headed, we may need to defend our home. He is all about that!

They are fierce little bastards with big balls. They do wait until the are several on you before they attack.

I think Mr has at least 30 bites. Sorry to be gross, but they even get a pus on the top of the bump.

This is third time they have invaded our home. The first time, we had our mattress on the floor. We woke up to a bed full of them. I ate enough Benadryl to last me a lifetime. They had made a mound up against the building and came in under the floor.

The second time was also in bed, except in Baby's room. They had come in thru a crack in the window sill. She was still living with us at the time so she is was maybe 2 yrs old. She let out a blood curdling scream. Thankfully she didn't have a whole lot of them, only a few bites.

We're sitting at our daughter's waiting for them to get home. We could go in but it's raining, so we're content to sit in there truck listening to music.

We've been walking in Walmart since we we got rained out of the park.

Anyhow, we were invited for pizza. Baby had to give a small speech for an FFA meeting. She made officer this year. She's treasurer I think.

This is the first time she's had to speak in front of people. I remember how scary is was back then. Now I don't give a fuck. I used to be on the radio once a week for an old job.

She gets to bring home a bald guinea pig for the weekend. She wants us to see him. She's allergic though, even to a hairless one. She had to wear a mask and gloves, but she still loves him.

Maybe just go in with neighbours and buy a bunch of them and let them free range the neighbourhood? That would be a Permaculture solution.

Lance, that would be awesome, but I'm sure the owners would never allow it. I don't think they even allow chickens in the city at all.

Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and all the fixings. Today.

Mom's B-day party. Expecting company, family and friends. She is getting old.....don't ask me how old....I am not keeping track right now. She is in retirement age along with Dad and they are the same age. lol.

Her birthdays was several days ago.

lol. Nice!

We went night fishing the other night. Mom was not in her element and doesn't get around well even during the day. She tripped on a concrete curb she didn't see, fell into a railroad tie that separated the parking area from the restrooms and broke her nose.

For the love of God....the shriek and subsequent moans of pain were heart rending. My son and I were staying a few hours more and were still at the dock when it happened. We both ran up to the parking area and found her sitting in the gravel soaked in her own blood.

She is ok, but she did break her nose and has bruising around her eyes. After the initial shock wore of the next day, she is in some moderate pain. Her cries of agony when it happened though, will forever haunt me. Not something I ever want to ever hear again in my lifetime. damned

I'll be back tomorrow.

Thank you for thinking of me.

I texted with a few members; they were a great help to lift my spirits. I was extremely ill behind a severe allergic reaction to the injectable non statin cholesterol med called Repatha.

I was unable to walk or even lift myself up on my arms from it. That seems to slowly be returning.

It just wasn't in me to go one line, I was even out of work ten days, but I'm on the path to recovery (hopefully)!

So I'll just leave tonight's release here for your enjoyment until then. Think Van Halen 'Panama'.

For my dinner tonight;

I fried and seasoned some ground beef, added some yellow potato and covered till tender then opened and added a can of mushroom soup with about a cup of grated medium cheddar cheese and enough water to evenly mix it all together.

Not an altogether healthy meal, but it tasted just fine.

Thanks everyone.

She is doing as well as can be expected.

Although she broke her nose, and surely bled from it too, most of the bleeding was the result of a cut or split at the point where her nose meets her frenum. Dad used some clotting gel on it to stop the bleeding and help get it under control. She also went to emergency care and is doing as they recommend. She has some swelling still and discoloration around her eyes.
