...

looks good! thumbs

Quit similar to what I had for dinner last night, sans the corn.

It was a fairly simple meal.

We had soft wraps with a side of iceberg salad.

I did cut and dice a cantaloupe and a mango the other day and there was quite a bit left, so that was also on the menu.

We are No Salt foodies here because of our Sons health, so we use Mrs Dash No Salt Taco seasoning and Lightly salted Chips. Can't even taste the difference.
 Quoting: BBQ BOY™

Interesting.

I can't imagine going without salt. We typically only use Pink Himalayan or Kozher salt though.

We stay away from the MSG salts and other salt that have anti caking agents or other such additives that are bad for you.

One blend we do often use is "Natures Seasoning". I recommend it! (they have a low sodium option)

That is a good side effect! nice!

A lot of people are not aware the salt (sodium) is an essential dietary necessity that our bodies need.

A lot of food on the market is bad for your health, because it has additives that can be the cause of health issues, especially if eaten in quantity.

Manufactures of processed foods add excessive salt, sugar and fortify their food products with all kinds of other additives and preservatives.

This is a good reason to avoid eating processed foods on a regular basis. Unfortunately, a for a lot of people, that is all they eat, then they wonder why they are in ill health.

Back from surgery. Eating is kind of no-bueno. I put in a pickup order at the pharmacy for some children's electrolyte, coconut water, and macaroni and cheese.

ETA: Pedialyte freezer pops. The cold is what I'd like to reduce the internal swelling.

We reached 300 pages in the "near future" and now it has become recent past!

Keeping all in my thoughts and prayers: pups; parents; children; and peeps.

'Read all the posts, saw all the pictures, vicariously enjoyed the fine eats.

Not really hungry yet, woke up and ate six jelly beans twice last night.

Thawed some chicken for grilled chicken ranch or Caesar salad later, might make a small portion and serve something else with it.

I made a RAW Key Lime pie once.
I didn't have limes though so I used lemons.
And it called for 8 or 9 avocados.

I think the crust was ground up dates & walnuts.

It was the VERY BEST pie I ever had.

A walnut and date crust would be incredible beneath anything! I've never heard of avocados in a pie before.

We made Meyer Lemon bars last summer and hads one each and the rest sat and died in the 'fridge. They were not as good as the memory of them was.

I have pecan pie in the freezer, I'll need to remember it when I finally fix a meal.

I can swallow more than one time - at a time...today. Yesterday hurt too bad and I avoided swallowing. Today is better.

Had a mac-n-cheese (the instant stuff really is kind of icky), and am working my way through a coconut water. Waiting for the freezer to get my popsicles ready.

I'm making soup for Thursday. I need a simple meal from when I get back from the hospital, so I went with this:

Tonight though, I have a pie crust in the freezer and my friend just brought me a dozen farm-fresh eggs, so I'm going to make a quiche. A yummy quiche.

Here's a recipe for key lime pie but it only calls for 2 avocados. But it calls for coconut oil & soaked cashews so i guess the recipe I used just used avos for all that.
[link to food52.com (secure)]

You would not believe the raw vegan foods that are made that look and taste just like everything else from brownies to lasagne.

I made fake tuna salad by accident with raw soaked sunflower seeds, sea salt, apple cider vinegar & nutritional yeast. If I would have bought it or had it at someone else's house I would have sworn by the smell & taste that it was really tuna.

Couldn't you make some frosting to put on the bars to save them?
That reminds me. I mage a big mug cake (cake for 2)in the microwave yesterday for the first time- it turned out great but Mr wants frosting. I don't have powdered sugar so I need to make coconut cream with powdered coconut & then add granulated sugar.
Or I could powder the sugar in the blender.

Try making one with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese. Maybe some Pizza style sauce for a dipping sauce. Bet they would like that.

good idea BBQBoy. I used to make a spicy ground pork sausage and cheddar quiche. Monster wouldn't eat the froofroo crust on the sides but loved the rest.

My meals are reverse today: bfast was butternut squash ravioli, lunch was pate and pickles on vinta, and dinner is watermelon.

Ther might be an after dinner meal. LOLZ it's Friday, like S27 has said.

Yeah, kids love pizza. You can probably put an egg or 2 in the crust.
I hate eggs. When Mr would get a bunch of eggs & I had to use them up, I would make Angel Food cake. I think it was 12 egg whites. And then I would put the yolks in meat loaf & meat balls.
Lemon Meringue pie uses 3 or 4 yolks for the pudding part & the same amount of whites for the topping.

Then there's egg bread and egg noodles if you're so inclined.
Pretend it's Easter & make hard boiled eggs and egg salad.
