I returned to the UK from Nepal a month ago and had been looking at prices on n off for some time prev, now they are suddenly holding a way higher price than before and the dealers do not seem bothered about making a deal etc? , even private prices are up?, not sure if people just trying it on but i feel like i am suddenly being priced out on cars i would have gotten easily before?

I have a 2009 883 Sportster I built up to a 1200 myself with new jugs and pistons... I bought it brand new and it now has 47 thousand miles on it and the only thing I've had to replace is the tires , the battery and the the brake pads.

The Evolution engine is as dependable as any Jap bike, if not more.


It was more dependable than the Toyota pickup I had back in the 80s, which I DID have to make minor repairs on, and it DID return quite quickly to the earth from where it came in the form of rust..It literally broke in half crossing a railroad track one day.

If you compare the price ratio of a new vehicle VS used one, it seems to me that Newer vehicles are cheaper. And it may have something to do with Manufacturers. I wanted to sell my Chevy Silverado 2002 model 1500 single Cab for $3000, total mileage 81000. Rust by doors, other than that it is in good condition. Nobody wanted to buy it. So I decided to keep it for another 3 years.

I see 10yr old half ton pickups with over 100k miles sell for $10k.

A 2002 Chevy is worth more than a brand new one as far as I am concerned. Quality control and just plain quality of GM products has went down the toilet, i highly recommend staying away from them and Dodge, and only buy the ford v 8 f-150 if you do buy an american made pickup. The Nissan Titan is by far the best bargain,thought they have chincy interiors and some fit and finish problems, it has a bulletproof engine and transmission that will go a half a million miles if you dont abuse it, and it costs less than a tundra which is known to have variable cam timing problems around 100 grand..

That ecoboost shit Ford is making is TOTAL garbage and will cost you a fortune to keep running. Trying to squeeze 400 hp out of small V 6 is a recipe for disaster.

BTW, did your Silverado have the 4.3 vortex engine or was it a V-8? I still have my 94 Sierra and thought the engine is worn out at 260 K it still runs, it just burns a quart of oil every 1000 miles or so.

The reason I asked you if you still have it and what engine is in it is because I would consider buying it myself for three grand with that mileage. MY 94 Flareside is in really good shape other than the engine being worn out and the windshield busted out, it is a Texas only truck with NO rust, in fact it is totally undercoated by the TAR they put on all of the Farm to Market roads here..

I bought a Nissan Titan that was 4 years old with around 120k on it five years ago and it has been the best truck I ever had without a close second. I have since put around 80 thousand on it, the odometer reads a little over 200k now. Uses no oil, the coolant looks like the day I put it in and the engine runs like a new one.

In the time I had the only mechanical problem it ever had is a the gas cap cracked and leaked and made the engine light come on and a battery connector corroded through. HIGHLY RECOMMEND NISSAN TRUCKS they're the cheap Toyota

Try to find parts in a junkyard these days. I have been looking for windshield and an engine for my old GM truck forever. Thanks to obama they all got bricked.

My dad bought it new and changed the bed, as we were in the farm implement business. After a few strokes, he could not climb in and out.

We hauled equipment and I hauled fireworks trailers also for 25 years with this great truck. It has the most comfortable captain seats ever in a truck.

Replaced the 5.7 with a crate motor and rebuild the trans in 2018. I'm good for 20 years. Solid, trans will throw your hand back when it shifts to 2nd gear, if not loaded.

I guess a paint job is in order next. These are the models that the paint would blow off and stick to the windshield..

Also have 2009 2500 Suburban with 6.0 and 6L90..
