Iota crossed into Nicaragua near the town of Haulover, approximately 15 miles south of where Hurricane Eta also struck as a Category 4 on Nov. 3. Nicaragua, along with Honduras, Guatemala, and southern Belize, which are flanked by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, are still trying to recover from the widespread devastation caused by Hurricane Eta, which left tens of thousands homeless. At the time, Eta was the strongest storm to ever hit Nicaragua in the month of November. We're gonna see unbelievable pics and video in the next few days.
Misery has been spilled on top of one the already most miserable parts of the world.
Honduras and Nicaragua combined account for well over 15 million people.
Are they gonna seek refuge to the north or to the south ? |

I know it was a Cat 5 earlier. Still a high end Cat 4 is no joke. Even a Cat 1 or 2 can be devastating. Just look at Sandy in 2012 and Florence in 2018. |
