I think a lot of the “excitement” you’re seeing are people reacting happily to something more serious finally being done to fight the pandemic. We’ve been hearing for weeks that things are getting worse than ever, but nothing serious has been done in most places to fight against it. Knowing that a vaccine is still months away at best from being widely available, I know many people have felt like things have been getting out of control and they’re glad to see some action finally being taken to try to turn things around back in the right direction.
