Quoting: Runningwithscissors I’ve seen it first-hand with several family members on family text. They seem downright excited with the new restrictions placed locally, as mild as they are compared to other places. That’s the only way I can describe it accurately - there’s real energy and excitement about the new restrictions, like they can now become more fully part of the pandemic movie they’re playing in their heads. To be clear, this isn’t about my family members. I’m using them as first-hand experience with how the minds work of those who are compliant. It’s disturbing. It’s like street theatre and they can’t wait to participate. I’m interested in hearing what others’ experiences are with those all on-board with restrictions, and what you think is their motivation behind it. So many people are acting in ways I never thought the majority in society would act like. I have noticed a trend with people who CAN work from home. They see much of this as a bonus for them. They are willing to overlook how much damage the lockdowns have done because they feel being home is better than going to work. They also have an elitist view that its too bad for people that are not "essential" and that those people who are deemed "not essential' are useless anyway and not at all part of their reality. We are rapidly falling into a pit where empathy does not exist. This mentality will create the type of people that look away when others are sent to camps. History repeats. But also, what else are we supposed to do? When I go to Costco sure I wear a mask. That's to protect other people especially the workers there who are in public many hours per day. When I don't have to be out, I am at home which is safest for everyone else. This doesn't mean I like lockdowns. But we are able to do OK in lockdown conditions. ![]() Why do you feel the need to protect others from your nasty self? Are you ill? Stay home if you are! ![]() |

Quoting: Keilani They are also the kind of people who don't think for themselves, so they just love all the big brother authority over their life dictating their every move. Think brainless women, who love to have an abusive male in their lives. Some also are just plain lazy, and love the fact they have an excuse not to work, and even if they have an essential job they keep getting COVID tests in hopes of that six week paid vacation. Let's not forget the Antifa/BLM type, think social workers, school teachers, that can go out and "protest" and get paid while doing it, as their jobs are shut down, but since they're "gov" jobs, they still get paid. Honestly, just not surprised there are people like that. There are people where I work that get a Covid test every time they get the sniffles so they can stay home until they get the results without getting into trouble. Many are using Covid for a vacation. We make jokes about hoping we get a cold so we can get a Covid vacation. That's the only way many of us are able to get any time off to rest. Waiting for Yeshua |

(OP) User ID: 62595720 ![]() 11/15/2020 02:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Amazing responses and ideas. An idea occurred to me with those responding positively to the restrictions with what I’m interpreting is a sense of responsibility to the welfare of others. Honest question. If you were accused of giving someone the virus, even if you thought they were wrong, would you feel horrified? Shame? Would you feel like wanting the earth to open up and swallow you up and die? I wouldn’t. I would feel like someone had crossed a serious boundary and put a responsibility on me that wasn’t mine. I expect other adults to do what is appropriate for themselves given their own circumstances and for those in their care. I just assume that as an aspect of being a free human on this earth. I wonder if this is the feelings of most people on this thread - that it’s a matter of appropriate boundaries and self-responsibility. And that shame isn’t a societal trigger for them. Just a thought. You can tell me you think I’m wrong on this. Runningwithscissors <3 |

We’ve been hearing for weeks that things are getting worse than ever, but nothing serious has been done in most places to fight against it. Knowing that a vaccine is still months away at best from being widely available, I know many people have felt like things have been getting out of control and they’re glad to see some action finally being taken to try to turn things around back in the right direction.
