Oregon decriminalized all drugs last night.

Because if the environment determines the person and how they will act, we are screwed. not savable. irredeemable. lost.

Drug use is not really a so-called victimless crime because it causes a lot of flaky, freaky behavior in people. Behavior which causes disruptions in the workplace or elsewhere, which leads to problems for an employer, for a drug user's family, for the government having to pick up the broken pieces left by an addict/user.

Oregon's liberalism is anything but wonderful and beautiful. It's just liberal, period.

I don't pretend that there aren't rotten people out there that take a toll on society. I don't pretend my taxes don't support and fund them ... just like I also realize that my taxes fuels our war machine that kills innocents the world over.

But if I am going to point my fucking finger at something ... it has better be big enough to point at all of the issues that are exact duplicates. Because if I am pointing at drugs as the cause of human suffering instead of the person itself, my finger better be big enough to encompass the entire earth as would be needed with suck a stupid theory.

what is a junkie ... someone that is unable to say 'no' to their desires? or is there an additional requirement of harming themselves or others?

Drugs like opioid addictions are similar to casino betting. Lots of people didn't have gambling addictions until casinos became legal and moved into their area. Put poison on a plate and set it before them and they will taste it. As old as Eve and the apple.

I moved to Washington from Destin my friend! I like the PNW much better, and I spent 6 years in Alaska sailing. Alaska is where I will end up once my career is over regardless, only indecision there is if I cut my time in Washington early or not.
