Is America a "Melting Pot" or a "Salad"? What Were You Taught? (Vote & Video)

When I was in elementary school (early 80's) we were taught that America was a great "Melting Pot" of people because a melting pot is like a stew. This means, all the ingredients are combined, under slow heat, and everything contributes to the flavor, soaking together, to become one basic meal.

To support this idea, we also had SCHOOL HOUSE ROCK during our Saturday Morning cartoons! Not only did we learn what the function of a conjunction was, we also learned about ELECTRICITY, and U.S. History.



Oh...but how things have changed!

In high school we were introduced to a NEW concept. We were NOT a melting pot anymore. We were now a salad. A salad?
What the fuck?

It seems that a salad allows for more DIVERSITY. In a salad, each ingredient stands apart, on its own, unique, with individual flavor. The only thing holding the salad together is the dressing. And if the dressing is simply oil & vinegar, that's even better. The lettuce does not share its flavor with the tomato or onion or cucumber. We were told, the "Melting Pot" never was. We are a fucking veggie salad, and preferably without any meat or even eggs. Okay, I added that last sentence, but I think you get my drift.

Now, our children are taught that the USA SUCKS.

Why? Because we stole the land from Native Americans, we are inherently RACIST, White men are EVIL, Christians are terrible people, and guns are very, very BAD! Women are good...but not if they are also white, Christian, married to a man and have children. If a woman owns a firearm, just call the cops on her!


And most importantly...our government SUCKS. The Constitution is out-dated, and the American Flag is a symbol of RACISM & REPRESSION.

"No borders, no wall, no U.S.A. at all"
