Why don't birds fly to the moon?

There is no water on the moon. Birds get thirsty too.

Sad that anyone answered at all, and even sadder that this has to be pointed out in response to the answers.

The moon is in space. Birds cannot fly to space for many reasons. They can’t fly too high because the air gets thin and colder the higher you get, so the birds can’t fly or breathe at some point, and if they could they would eventually freeze to death. Even if the bird could fly that high, when they reach the vacuum of space they would die. Even if they could survive space they couldn’t fly in space, because they use their wings to push off the air for propulsion, so they have no way to move through space to the moon (unlike rockets, which can move through space).
