Loma gave too many rounds away early-on. Lopez's power-reputation neutralized Loma's usual volume.

If there's a re-match then Loma has to come out VERY VERY aggressively.

Lopez beat him. It was up to lomanchenko to go out and fight and he didn’t.

Loma gambled that Lopez would tire and lose focus.

That happened only a small bit, but not enough to overcome the first half of those 12 rounds.

LOMA started too late.
Maybe he was injured.
Or he got old.
It happens.

Right. I kept thinking Loma would turn it on but he never did.

I've seen ALOT of Championship fights going wayyy back.

Many times they start out seemingly slow and boring. That is because the two fighters don't want to make a big mistake early-on and they go into prevent-mode in the first few rounds to instead feel out their opponent. Seen that time and time again.

Unless it's Mike Tyson in there. Who tires easily and has/had no choice but to go for the early KO.

Big fights often are boring in the first few rounds.

They can't all be Hagler-Hearns!

What happened in MMA/UFC tonight??

Combination of ring rust and age for Loma. Lopez fought a very disciplined and smart fight. Score cards were ridiculous, it was more like a draw, Loma did well in two of the first six and did well in the last half.

All props to Lopez. Made a statement tonight and I will watch him in the future. Loma has alot to think about. He waited too long to go pro, pushing mid 30's and at the limit in terms of weight class.

Hopefully they run it back. I feel like Loma would likely win the rematch.
