I have smoked DMT and mushrooms, quite a bit in my life.

What am I missing in AYA that I have not seen?

I know there is a considerabal substance in the answer to my question, I am just wondering of your spin on what you think indiviually this particular medidince brings forth?

Additionally, please let us know of your stats regarding weight/height and how much you ingested and were there many other people there? Did you meet any cool people from the experience?

Me too. I was driven 50 miles from Cusco to a retreat.

I don't recommend taking DMT in Cusco...they simply want your money and don't prepare you properly. If you observe (like we did) the proper diet for at least 2 days prior to ingesting Ayahuasca, you won't "purge". While the offices of the group we went with were located in Cusco, the retreat was miles away. None of our group threw-up or shit themselves.

Did you drink Cusco sourS in main town square across from awesome old churches? Or did you run naked through “sexy women”? Very high elevation there, be carful.

Yes, it cleared my path, settled my uncertainty with death and money and allowed me to see this wold for what it is.

All of the above and more. It was a delightful time.

I did not ingest the first time I was in Cusco...just began laying the ground work. I called one group in downtown Cusco and asked when I could take Ayahuasca, they said: "how old are you"? I told them and they said: meet us at 5:00 p.m. tonight and you can take it. I said: no thanks. The group I went with requires that you NOT ingest any alcohol nor ever prescription drugs (without their ok) prior to taking Ayahuasca.

Yes, I came across a number of vendors in Cusco, however, I made my final decision after meeting with this Shaman. He was an american who had moved to Peru 30 years prior to live in the Amazon and learn all about the medicinal plants of the the Amazon basin. He spoke Quechua, Ashaninka, Spanish and English. His process involved a 24 hour period of eating no meat/drugs/alcohol/chemicals followed by another 24 hour period of no food and only water. On the 49th hour we undertook a ceremony on sunset and then proceeded with our first wooden bowl of the drink. The Shaman drank a small amount to induce and maintain his trance, He sung in language and prepared the drinks throughout the night. He had two helpers one human woman and another who was there in spirit. The ceremony lasted until dawn.

The Shaman died a couple of months after the ceremony.

Interesting thanks. Did you get anything prophetic, generally? I saw Dennis McKenna on a recent documentary coming out the other side saying his trip was tough, having seen a future dystopian nightmare type scenario.. that was last year I think..

I have tried DMT from acacia and have had many types of mushroom expriences. All of which I enjoyed, however, the AYA was more of a life defining event.

I went into the AYA experience as an iceberg, floating in the ocean of life. I emerged as the ocean of life.

80KG, 183CM I was one of four guests. There were seven of us in total.

I met a girl a week before the experience. We did it together. We moved apart in the days after the experience.

My entire experience was enlightening. Nothing untoward or frightful. I came out exhausted but confident and fulfilled. I was shown doorways into other lives and then spent time in a place we exist outside of this planets experience. A place of total and utter content. This is our normal state, not the earthly testing state.

i took a bunch of LSD above sacsayhuaman above cusco...it was a full moon and we werent supposed to be up there, but we spent the night walking around and when the sun came up we went down these 'slides' good times in peru in 2003

The dieta has nothing to do with purging. I have had more than 70 nights of ceremony in the past 11 years (four of my friends are shamans who lead ceremonies) and I probably purge at least half the time. I follow the dieta for 2 weeks before ceremony - no white sugar, coffee, meat, spicy foods, bread. I have had ceremonies that were physically pleasant, only to spend an hour or so purging hours or a day after ceremony. I have been in ceremonies where everyone purged and others where none of the 150 plus participants purged that night.

There are some great healers in Peru - and some who just want your money.

Ayahuasca is considered an anti-parasite among soem groups in South America. As uncomfortable as purging can be, I ALWAYS feel better and am grateful for eliminating whatever toxin/dark energy was stored in my body.

I drank in Peru only once, with a Swiss man who studied to be an ayahuascero for 11 years before I met him. Six weeks before the ceremony, I was a victim in a violent home invasion. My husband was shot with a .38 (8 1/2 inches from entry on arm to exit on his back, but the bullet didn't hit a nerve, bone or artery, thank God) and I was strangled three times, pistol whipped and beaten. I had already booked the flight to Peru before the home invasion.

Five days before the ceremony, I couldn't eat or drink water. The only thing I could stomach was coca tea. I coudln't eta a bite of rice. I had no body fat by the time I went to the ceremony, but I had tons of energy. I did 2 hours of yoga, hiked Machu Piccho twice. I was probably 115 lbs and I am 5'6'. I thought I was going to die from the purging. Not to be gross, but I went through two full buckets and out the other end, even though I had no eaten in five days. I fainted in the bathroom. I begged the medicine to stop the purging. She told me that we store trauma in our fat cells and she had to make sure I had no fat so she could do her work. She said I would never have a flashback. I still fought it in ceremony, but 12 hours later, I felt better than I had in years. 11 years later, I have never had a flashback, fear or PTSD from the violent incident.

Thanks for sharing that incredible story. The plant medicine did more for you on that day than psychiatry could have done in years. Is your husband ok too?
