This is particularly strange in a country where you can just move to a state, or neighbourhood reflecting your attitude to life and lifestyle. With that much space you should be able to live your life the way you want without having to adapt to others' views. Unfortunately, that's not what some powers want. They want you to live under centralized government, following a centralized model of thinking and life, i.e. in homogenous misery. The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was originally a pluralist society where various religious and ethnic groups lived together peacefully, but it was eventually dismantled by an alliance of centralized dictatorships. |
