There must be 40 people waiting. Quoting: JadeDone Vancouver, WA which ER? Peacehealth SW? Yes, Peacehealth on Mill Plain. Nearly every seat in the lobby is full and people are standing. |

I've been there 3 times in the past year. That's prob double what I"ve seen and more unusual on a Monday, I worked in an ER forty years ago and weekends were always the peak. |

There are usually some 24-hour clinics that accept non-life-threatening emergencies like severe abdominal pain, broken bones, etc. They are less crowded and far cheaper. Goodbye, halcyon days... There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened. |

Walk around and ask people "what are you in for?" then report back your findings. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77039067 LOL yeah, just tell them you're taking a survey. OP, is hub ok? Is it gallstones? No gallstones but it was his gallbladder. They removed it the next morning. |

(OP) User ID: 78101740 United States 10/08/2020 06:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We waited in the ER lobby 4 hours. They did labs throughout the wait but kept sending him out to the lobby. All of the patients were sporting blood pressure cuffs while waiting. The crowd started thinning out just before he went to the back room. Here's the weirdest part- after the CT SCAN, they admitted him overnight, but they didn't send him to the floor. We stayed overnight in an ER room until his surgery in the morning. The ER docs said there were NO rooms. Post surgery, he was sent to the floor to recover. The nurses told us that it wasn't that there were no rooms, there wasn't staff to watch all the rooms. He's recovering well at this time. He's in some pain but he's happy not to be in agony and vomiting. They did run a covid rapid test once he was officially admitted for the night, but not before. |
