Because, as you mention, he is on a drug that is still in phase 3 testing, they will need to monitor him, as well as for the disease it's self.

Don't think he is in a hospital bed right now. Walter Reed has a mini white house, a suite for him, a suite so his doctor can stay with him, offices for staff and meetings, a kitchen, as well as an ICU that can not be accessed from top officials or staff of walter reed hospital.

He will still be working, and IF he has an issue, he is right where he needs to be.

It's not much different than when he leaves for a weekend, except he doesn't have golf, and he has an ICU if he needs it. lol
