Now, with a little help from all the manufactured crises, we're seeing the effects. A couple of good David DuByne vids: |

We used to have some outstanding posters from there on GLP. I wanted to ask them about Romania, that surprisingly (to me, at least) turns out to be the 2nd largest wheat exporter from the EU. According to a video or two I saw - one from David DuByne - Romania has stopped sending any wheat to China and they were a major supplier to them. That can only mean one of two things or both: 1. They're trying to keep their wheat in the country, no matter what price is offered to them and 2. They have their own other reasons for telling China to look elsewhere. But this kind of news is hard to find! The MSM won't tell us squat when one food-exporting country after another shuts down their exports! USA is still trying to honor ridiculous 'trade agreements,' none of which do fuck all for Americans, when we probably should start doing the same thing as many others are doing now: stop exporting our food because we don't have enough in reserve for our own country. |

One year of BASIC food for long term storage For apx $600 450,000 calories. Dear Brethren: Occasionally people speculate about possible disasters, which speculation engenders fear and can cause members to become caught up in emergency preparedness efforts that are not only costly but go beyond the basics consistently taught by the First Presidency...We continue to encourage members to store sufficient food, clothing, and, where possible, fuel for at least one year. We have not laid down an exact formula for what should be stored. However, we suggest that members concentrate on essential foods that sustain life, such as grains, legumes, cooking oil, powdered milk, salt, sugar or honey, and water. Most families can achieve and maintain this basic level of preparedness. The decision to do more than this rests with the individual. We encourage you to follow this counsel with the assurance that a people prepared through obedience to the commandments of God need not fear. October Updates: IMPORTANT: Both the Home Storage Center and Bishops' Storehouse will be CLOSED Saturday, October 3 for General Conference. |

If you have the space and you feel 'prompted,' get it while you can at a still-affordable price! I was using sea salt from a bucket of bulk baggies I kept buying whenever I went to town for at least 6 years without having to look for it again once I moved someplace where I couldn't buy it locally. If it keeps well, you'll never be sorry for having extra. If a bucket sounds like a lot of salt, it isn't, when you remember you use at least a tablespoon to make two loaves of bread. If you don't, that bread will be tasteless, or taste like pencil eraser. I'm talking about wheat bread, half or all whole wheat, and it eats up salt. If you make sauerkraut, you'll need a lot, or any other vegetable ferment at home. And if you live in a very dry climate, don't even think of doing without salt. :) Sugar too and it's going up and up in price. And grocery stores within reasonable distance to me are always out lately! It's an excellent preservative on its own for food you store. (you need it for making wine and booze too, of course, or any grain alcohol you'll say is for 'medicinal use.') People think of it as a luxury item and it's not, especially when fresh fruit is out of season or unavailable and GMOs and herbicides have killed off most of the bees that produce honey. Everybody thinks they can do without sugars until they actually have to. Since FDR, finishing the job started by the Civil War to break the South - that used to produce all our sugarcane - we don't have any sugarcane production in the mainland USA anymore! So where are we going to get it when those who have it stop exporting? Seen the price of honey lately? Seen any sign that Monsanto has even slowed down poisoning the whole planet? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75671601 My stores have been ok. A few things missing but not a huge problem. We might not have everything but we have enough. If people stopped over eating and grocery stores stopped throwing out food we would never have a problem. Everyone should be taking a vitamin mineral supplement anyway. With all the stress we are under it is a necessity and then you are less hungry because nutrient levels are being met. |

And maybe that is keeping people from buying a lot. A four pack of yogurt that was a dollar last year is now over a $1.50. That’s a huge rise. And it’s a store brand. |
